They don't seem to have learned from the mistakes of the 3DS, and that was in the handheld market, where they'd been utterly dominant for 20 years anyhow, and had wriggle-room to cut price, which I don't think they do with the U.

They need to get games out there this year, and they need a proper marketing campaign to let people know that the Wii U is a thing. They should basically "relaunch" it marketing-wise, like they did with the "This is not DS, this is 3DS" ads.

Look at the launches of the PS2, PS3, 3DS, Wii, Xbox, N64 etc...the Wii U will be grand. This void of software for new consoles isn't a new thing

im in the same boat. this was really my only time owning all systems but i thought about it , long and hard and i believe me buying the wii u was the right choice.

There was just such an cluster**** of shooters 1st person and 3rd and while some of them i loved like the fallout series, bioshock , vanquish and uncharted 1 and 2 i just couldnt handle it again and i know its going to be the same again with the ps4 and 720.

i wanted games again like the days of Megadrive, snes, hell even ps1 and ps2 where there was variety and just sit down and have a blast fun.

i found there was too many games on ps3 that was just too linear and felt like playing a cinematic movie than an actual game.

i want more games like sonic generations, mario galaxys, zelda, metroid. just pure epicness.

the only games that i wanted to hold onto with playstation was yakuza series, metal gear. others are sonic games and mortal kombat

i believe mortal kombat coming to wii u since its being on every nintendo system and that's the same with sonic games. it was leaked that metal gear is coming to wii u so fingers crossed for that and i believe its a possibility and snake eater 3d on the 3ds was a test to see if people were interested. that only leaves yakuza which looks like yakuza 5 isn't coming to ps3 cause sega are idiots so looks like the series ended on dead souls in the west.

after this i was decided and i don't regret buying the wii u at launch. After summer when the games be pumping out there be nothing but satisfaction as i play wind waker for the first time ..it be awesome

not as bad as europe waiting for persona 4 arena

That figure is for its first week on sale, I'm pretty sure. Sony sold all 1/2 million PS2s they shipped in the US at launch on the first day; they couldn't keep up with demand...don't think we'll see any console enjoying a launch like the PS2 or Wii did again any time soon, if ever.

Rumour has it PS4 will launch for UK£300, which is very competitive.

And very dangerous , sony are in junk status might i add at the moment and they normally sell at a loss and hope to profit in the future.

If the system is as powerful as its rumoured to be then it needs to become a success instantly.
