    or Blackberry, or iPhone.

When I receive an email with these sigs on them my first thought is "this person spent their hard earned on a cool gadget and is too dumb to personalise the sig". Preferring instead to shill.

If it is from a business associate I despair - it reeks of misplaced smug, and is still shilling.

People, you can be better than this!

I take it to mean "I am not in the office so might not reply if you reply and my email may have spelling and formatting mistakes"

Too dumb or couldn't be arsed?

I'm going to go with couldn't be arsed - for no reason whatsoever.

no... It's just the settings on their phone, that they are obviously just not bothered or haven't got around to changing.

This is the thing, though. If I spent €800 on a gadget I'd explore all its possibilities. And certainly wouldn't be sending free ads to all my contacts.

Its no worse than the people who got to a concert/show/match and use their iPad as a camera! FFS!!

It was a she. Birds with important messages can't be trusted.

Not everyone is tech savvy. Hell, a friend of mine is a teacher and had to buy an iPad because the kids are all getting them.

As she put it "I don't even know how to turn it on". So it's not unreasonable to think that people don't explore everything.

Besides, all the scaremongering of "you can't do that, it voids your warranty" probably causes people not to play around too much

I bet your car more than likely has a dealers contact details on its numberplate surround and maybe its rear window...

The ipad is a pointless old gadget with little use for anyone anymore.

My new pet peeve. Tech company bashing without a clue. It's set by default, not by smugness. It's on my phone and iPad and I couldn't be arsed changing it for the few things I do send.

Who the fuk cares about such stupid little things anyway?

No you daft... YOU GO BACK TO SCHOOL! :pac:

She teaches in a private school or something and all the kids were getting them. So she had to buy one too so that she could use e-books and whatnot instead of regular books.

A few years ago when blackberries were the the thing to have, we changed one of the sales team lad's message to "Man Utd - Champions League winners 08". He was a HUGE liverpool fan, we never told him either so he was sending that to all his clients for ages :D

I have kept mine set to "sent from android" purposely because it excuses me to a small extent for formatting errors or just explains brief resonses.

That's exactly why I include a signature on my phone, saying:

    "Sent from my mobile"

Well it's a primary school. I was told that the reason is so the kids don't need to carry books (which is good obviously). She never was very into the whole gadget thing as far as I know. I'm not either.

I think though with the iPads they're not going to be just given to kids and are only handed out at specific times in school and stuff

Even funnier is that United didn't win the Uefa cup in 08.
