I remember it being told that it sounded like a baby crying. There is a spot near my home house that is famous for it a good few people have supposedly seem her there. We live a bit away from the main village and my uncle was walking down to the pub when he heard what he thought was a baby crying, without even thinking he hopped the gate into the field and followed the sound, he need up underneath a tree but couldn't find the source until he looked up and there she was sitting in the tree.

My sister and her friends were playing hide and go seek one summer evening, these were marathon games as no one had to go in cause there was no school and it was back in the day when you could go roving for hours without your mother having an iota where you were so they were hiding all over the place. One of my sisters very good friends went to go and hide until she too heard what she too thought was a baby crying and had the very same experience. She went running back down to the lads in an awful state.

I personally don't believe any of it, I think it's cats riding, it can be a fierce lonesome sound.

Joan Burton, the only woman that has a voice like a drunken banshee.

Now that's some insult to the poor Banshee.

I'm sure it's foxes but my mother claims to have seen her about forty years ago.

When i was about 13 or 14 one night i heard the most awful crying/howling noise. When i looked out of the window i could see a white figure at the top of the hill. 2 days later there was a terrible fire in our flat complex where 2 adults and 2 kids died. Till this day I've convinced myself that it was a banshee i saw and heard. Still get goose bumps thinking about it.
