I thought I did when camping in Clare many years ago. It was actually 2 badgers fighting - they both had bitten into each other and were rolling around screeching. Now that was a good night. I became atheist 10 minutes later.

Especially because just this week, I randomly wondered what a banshee would sound like and whether it was similar to the song of the siren. I think it's because I was thinking of light houses. Plenty of older folks used to believe in the banshee. I used to live in the old flats in Ballybough, several of the older people used to talk about it, and the horrific crying from her.
