Samsung galaxy beam €149 on carphone warehouse site

    Maybe nobody wants one, but i do! Its a projector and a smartphone, albeit a gingerbread os, but at this price worth a look.

    Ordered one.. but might cancel.

    Would need to unlock it - since am on O2.

    And doesn't seem to be a competitor for the S3: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Beam,Samsung-Galaxy-S-III/phones/6961,6330

    A few reviews indicate the projector isn't great either.

    Carphone Warehouse are still selling it for £419.95 in the UK.

    Therefore it is worth buying.

    I got a phone from carphone warehouse and a netbook reduced by more then half price before from them so there is a good chance it is not a mistake they do clear outs from time to time.

    Ive ordered one but need to get it unlocked now to find a cheap unlock code :D

    Yeah, I got the Samsung Wave off them cheap but didn't like the phone - girlfriend was using it until I got her an iPhone at Christmas though.

    I do think this is VERY cheap though. Still, always worth a punt!

    It's a bit of a gimmicky phone imo.
    Anyone remember a while back when the Xperia Play was heavily reduced to ~€150 in CW while the 3 store were still selling it for €519?

    I have a feeling this deal is legit!

    appears to be legit - the reduction is featured when you look at the list of phones ...

    I remember the xperia play was unlocked if you bought from carphone warehouse but locked if bought direct form o2. Would be handy if it was the same.

    Was about to post this, ordered one for the craic, have an idea for it.

    No official Samsung reports to say this is getting either ics or jb. I would think the reduction in price probably means its staying on gingerbread. If that's ok with you, then €149 is a good price.

    I think it is not a problem, you should be able to root it and then put "any" rom you want to:)
    Too bad it is gone-I would swap my old xperia x8:)

    I was thinking the same. Any idea if the projector would still work with the new ROM?

    From what I have been reading, if the phone did not have a projector it would be a midrange phone.

    Have no need for it but would have taken a punt if it had been in stock. Looks like its great value. Best of luck eberyone. Currently €479 (but out of stock) on vodafone.ie so if ye get it for €149, it's a steal.

    It will be working fine with custom roms(if there is any available atm). I know you can root it without any problems.
