... My son plays gta and it keeps disconnecting with the two messages above. He finds it very frustrating and I am unhappy after paying so much for the playstation and this is happening all the time ...... We have 02 mobile broadband and a full signal. I was on to them and they say I should ring the manufacturer ( rockstar) which seems ridiculous. Have you ever came across this ?if so is there a simple remedy , I presume it's not the console problem but the game ...any advice appreciated.....

It's not the game, nor is it the console - it is to do with your ISP.

When you do an internet connection test on the PS3, what results do you get?
    Particularly the NAT type.
NAT 2 is best, NAT 1 next, but NAT 3 is useless for online gaming.

You may have to go down the port forwarding route to play online:

Thanks for quick reply. Did a test there it is nat3 ... Unfortunately ! I was just looking at a 10 min you tube video on how to change it to nat open ... It's rediculous how hard it is to make a small setting change to the playstation ... Thks anyway

Thing is - if you follow that guide or others - just write it down on some paper first - once you do it the settings are saved - so it is a one time piece of pain but so worth it in the end.

Nat3 is just not the best, if you can get nat2 at all go for it. Unfortunately my system is wired so I cannot help with mobile settings.

This is the best guide for putting a ps3 into a DMZ.It tells you exactly what to do and where to go in the setting.Hope it helps.
