Soundtrack To Your Angst

A while back I had an idea for the whole RadioColm project that I'd do these "album tribute episodes" in which I'd play an album in full, with bonus content, remixes etc. and have it open for discussion on Twitter and all of that, kind of like BBC did with the Radio One Masterpieces series.
One problem, nobody listens to RadioColm. It happens that a significant number of people, myself included, really like Florence + The Machine though, and having talked to my friends and watched some trends on Twitter, I've decided to push ahead with the project and start tonight with their album Lungs.

This is a great cover. I learned today that Elliot Smith used to double track all his vocals, which accounts for the cool effect.

(For any Elliot Smith fans out there this song is also featured in the movie Thumbsucker - possibly one of the most good-yet-totally-bizarre movies ever made. He was supposed to do the full soundtrack for it, but then he died and The Polyphonic Spree were chosen to complete it. There's stil a few Smith tracks on it though).

I'm legitimately not sure whether Nightcore is a band or a genre, but this track is bloody awesome.

Out of interest, who does the rapping in the verses remind you of?

For me it reminds me of

Eminem, except sounding way younger.

EDIT: On further investigation, there is a high possibility that it could actually be the person just with pitch added...

This is possibly my favourite Pavement track of all time.

Have you ever listened to Galaxie 500? That was the guitarist's previous band, they're brilliant. Will have to check more Luna out.
