Tbh it wouldn't be a problem if it was a smaller phone, the awkward holding position makes you feel it. I can feel it anyway. It might not be the actual weight as much as the uncomfortable holding position.

Its not feather weight anyway. Also finding the build quality isn't as good as the S3. Maybe its just my phone but I am getting lose squeaks at the top of the back cover. Drives me crazy. S3 was plasticy, but it was solid, note 2 doesn't feel as well designed.

I have heard many a squeak out of S3s that I have used - get the odd from my own Note 2.

It is down to the materials that Samsung use I think. They use light enough plastics to save weight and you are going to get squeaks and creaks when you do that.

My Otterbox Defender arrived today. It adds bulk, but at least I feel the phone is now safe, and it feels good in the hand too. Apologies for the crap quality of the photo but you can get a general idea about the bulk etc.

My boss had it. The plastic screen protector is the biggest amount of garbage ever, destroys the screen brilliance.

Was going to get the commuter otterbox, but ordered a seido active instead cause their a bit more colourful.

Might try to get a hold of the commuter case and do a comparison

Guys, did anyone with simfree Note 2 from UK received 4.1.2 OTA?

Just ordered two Anker replacement 3100mAh batteries with a wall charger for 11pounds off amazon.co.uk. The Note 2 is probably the first smartphone where I don't have problems with batteries but for that price it'd be rude not to. Always good to have a few spares and Anker have a great reputation.

I had the exact same response after changing from Windows Phone. I don't think I could ever change back to a smaller phone either after this.

lads, i lost my HTC sensation a few weeks and am really tempted to get the Note 2.

i wont lie, ive fiddled about with it in my local 3 store, but i just cant get my head around the sheer size of the thing.

now im a big dude, 6'2, so i dont have small girly hands. But here's a question.

How does it feel in the pocket? particularly with a decent protector on it?

It's a little bigger than the rest, but manageable unless a particular pair of trousers has small pockets.

has anybody had their screen glass replaced?

there's a damaged one for sale on ebay and im tempted to throw in a sneaky offer.

is it easy to get the glass replaced, and with genuine glass, not the slightly thicker ones you get from those chinese shops on moore street

Went from a Sensation to the Note 2, it doesn't feel that much bigger in the hand/pocket. I don't have a screen protector/etc though (for my shame, that shall be rectified next week).

I will say going from a Note 2 to a smaller phone does feel weird though..

Pocket carrying isn't really a problem. Usually if im wearing jeans or work trousers it doesn't cause any hassle. Only seemed a problem in looser clothing where it tends to fall out :(

I got a Saido Active case for it, tbh not a big fan of the case itself so dont use it that much, only put it on when I need the kick stand for watching videos for a longer time. Size is manageable. Pretty much forget about one hand operation cause even my fingers wont reach the other corner of the screen.

Thought in the end, the magnificent battery life is worth it, I can have screen brightness on 75-100% all day, data and 2 push email accounts on with around 80 games & apps installed. I listen to music for several hours while walking to places.

If your willing to get around the size, its a brilliant phone. You can use all of the functions without worrying about lack of juice to get you through the day.

Hey all got a Samsung note 2 from carphone warehouse as an upgrade from o2. Just wondering about the warranty is there a place for us to register the device for warranty or is it just there as soon as we buy it? Just want to make sure I have it coverd. Thanks

Is it reasonably easy to get a gel style case, screen protector, for one of those around Dublin city center, or should i save myself the bother and go straight to eBay?

Finally stumped up the courage to purchase one of these bad boys.

Just looking for a good solid case though. Something on the style of an otterbox, but without the bulk, any ideas?

Is there a way to *disable* an application in the Task Manager?

I can see Force Stop, Uninstall and Clear Data, but there seems to be no disable option...unlike the HTC from which i moved.

    Thanks

Hold center button and swipe left or right to the app you don't want, is that what you are talking about.

    Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(was one of the things i liked most about my One X)

Is there any add-on Application available that can be used to disable programs/remove them from the Apps menu until they're re-enabled?

Press the menu button while your in the app drawer. You will see hide apps function :) The only other way to remove them is to root and install titanium backup and pull them out by force :)
