Celtic's attendances are a discussion for the Celtic thread, although if you think it's "embarrassing" that they have the 3rd highest attendance in the UK behind Man Utd and Arsenal then I'd suggest you don't make a show of yourself there :)
    Behind Rangers too:D

No 3rd implies there are only 2 ahead. I even listed them for you. Anyway by their nature facts aren't there to be argued over so lets not drag this thread off topic.

Whatever jokes you might want to make, its still pretty embarassing for Celtic.

Please tell me you're not referring to individual games.

Embarassing that your 3rd division rivals are bringing in higher attendances against the likes of Elgin.

No I'm talking about total for the season so far.

Funny thing to follow up your previous comment with, but Rangers v Elgin 2nd December. Att. 23,195

You don't have to have an economics degree or even many functioning neurons to understand charging less tends to result in more sales.

"Please tell me you're not referring to individual games"

Fact is, we have sold more tickets and at a higher cost than Rangers have this season.

You have every right to be proud of your attendance and like I said, it's totally understandable that some of you would make such a big song and dance out of it, but you need to stop comparing it to ours as it's about the only way you can make yours look less impressive. It would be like us comparing our attendances to Real Madrid or Man Utd.

    Are you actually serious?

    Average Attendance 2012/13
    Man United 75515
    Real Madrid 71012
    Rangers 46841
    Celtic 45953

Yeah I can see how theres a similarity there alright.

How much are Celtic and Rangers selling tickets for ? Surely to gloat Rangers have to be doing better financially with gate receipts

It never ceases to amaze me what you guys get all het up about:rolleyes:

Sorry you go on about cheaper prices well here's a wee thing it's the lowest level of professional football in Scotland it has to be cheaper to take into account the teams we are playing. And as I said you stated the attendance against Elgin it was a Scottish cup game I merely stated you had 15,000 against St Johnstone and that was also a cup game
I couldn't care less really what your attendances are but if they are going to be talked about we should take all the circumstances into account :)

Cool story bro, nobody asked why the tickets are cheap - just pointed out that they are therefore there will be more sales.

If I make 10 sales of Item A at €5 a pop I have not done better than someone who has sold 8 of Item B at €10 a go.

I feel like I'm patronising you by even explaining this so I'm sorry, but you're not displaying any sort of basic understanding here.

It's almost as stupid as wanting to chalk off the CL games from the total figures. If 58k people cough up £40 or whatever it is for a CL ticket midweek then chances are less of them will be able to afford the league game that weekend as well.

Rangers are in one competition. Just one. Put it together.

When has ticket prices ever been factored into the average attendance table?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,704 ✭✭✭Broxi_Bear_Eire

So it won't be taken into account by fans what they are going to watch in the third division nonsense that had to be factored in if you are going to try and compare

It factors in when someone is trying to argue that a fractionally higher avg attendance despite far cheaper tickets is more impressive.

Probably of little/no interest to most but Corby's Rangers Club has closed its doors, unlikely to re-open. One of the biggest clubs outside Scotland, apparently took 600 to the UEFA cup final in 2008. Huge Scottish population in Corby and both the old firm have a big following down there.

    Story HERE

Went past it a few times, and its a decent sized place, Corby was supposedly one of the places in the UK to buck the trend with the recession but seemingly not in the pub sector.

Again you have missed the point by a mile while throwing wee insults about. We are talking about league attendances thats why the CL isn't included, And are you seriously trying to say the SPL and the third division are the same product with your analogy on pricing. You can't do that the product may be labelled football But it is like comparing a good malt with a cheap wine. Now I won't be replying as I want to watch the second half in peace ;):)

It's 0-0 by the way in the football, their keeper having the game of his life.

For the attendance junkies, it's about 35k today.

No, it factors in when it suits Celtic for it to factor in.

Know a couple of boys that live in Corby seemingly numbers through the doors had been falling for years busy for big games etc but empty the rest of the time. Talk is they are building a new place as seemingly they own a lot of the land that is being sold

    Oh, like excluding CL games?

Fact is, with all cherry picking and fact twisting removed, Celtic have had more in the gate in both numbers and £s. I stress the word fact.

So the games that bring in the most people can't be included in the totals. Fair enough.

Attendance today was only 6k compared to Rangers' 35k. So embarrassing!!

Your the one saying Celtic should be embarrassed? There's nothing embarrassing about selling almost identical tickets at a higher cost. It's a fcuking ridiculous argument
