bacp accrediation

Hi, just wondering if anyone could help. I have just completed my psychology degree with The Open University which is BPS accrediated. I am now looking at a post grad in cbt in Belfast cognitive therapy centre which is a two year part time one and is bacp accrediated with babcp accrediation if you fulfill extra counselling hours, supervision etc. As i live in Southern Ireland, can i work here with BPS and BACP accrediation or do you have to appy to PSI and ICAP accrediation.

Yes, in most cases they should be accepted.

It would depend on the job, but I know people who worked for the HSE and they were with BACP.

I don't know for certain with psychology jobs, but I think BPS is acceptable.

CBT courses should be accredited by the CBT professional bodies - the BABCP/IABCP or the NACBT, rather than counselling bodies. See stickies on Finding a Therapist.

Thanks for all your replies. To get babcp accrediation, you have to gain considerable extra counselling hours and supervision, which cannot be done in a short time, ususlly up to three years, course is bacp accrediated and then its up to the individual to get babcp accrediation when they have meet the requirments of doing this. The tutors on the course are babcp accrediated. From my research and what I have been advised, this is the case but anyone with contradicting information please let me know, much appreciated. thanks .....
