Maybe it's going to be a PS4 title?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

I thought that too. The graphics seemed a little too good for current gen but I assumed they were running it on a pc.

Sony would have to pay them a fortune for exclusive rights though or it won't be worth their while. Their best bet would be releasing on current gen and next gen.

It wouldn't be a whole lot of work, just some higher res textures, resolution and maybe some dx11 goodness on next gen. Early next gen titles are never really "next gen" anyway.

I imagine the plan was to release it on 360/ps3 in may/whenever and release a next gen/pc version in October when the NGC's are released but with the ps4 being announced in the next few weeks and the xbox not too far behind it may hurt sales.so they're pushing it back to September/October and releasing it at the same time

Sony wont have the exclusive as they don't have the cash to compete with how many sales R* would loose (the xbox is more popular is you exclude Japanese sales)

So something weird is going on here.

    3570K @ 4.6/1.28V - Max. temp of 75.
    3570K @ 4.8/1.39V - Max. temp of 74.

    (Half hour of Prime)

    Dafuq?!

Edit: Figures. Literally five second after I post this and the temps jump to 90°. Never mind. :P

I wouldn't push the voltage that high. Still a nice overclock. Time to delid that mofo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

Intel spec says 1.52 is the max safe, assuming proper temps, etc. Most chips need at least 1.45 to get to 5.0, most need more.

    I tried 1.385 @ 4.8, unfortunately that wasn't quite stable.

Might see if I can source a G530 on Adverts or something, just incase something goes wrong de-lidding, at least I'd have a backup and no downtime.

Given that I'm switching to a Prodigy as soon as I can find a buyer for my case/mobo, I think I'll wait until I get that done. Don't want to de-lid now, only to find I'm board-limited with the Z77E-ITX.

Not for PC gamers... I remember what a great masterpiece was gta 4 pc on launch.

That's the same as sandy's which I find hard to believe since they are 32nm. I wouldn't trust intel's spec in this case.

40%+ extra voltage over stock seems like a lot. I'd say your temps are more of a problem than your voltage.

It would probably do 5ghz at 1.4v - 1.45v if you could keep it cool enough.

I don't think I'd trust it for 24/7 use at that voltage though.

    http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/3rd-gen-core-desktop-vol-1-datasheet.pdf

Page 84. VID max of 1.52. Remembering here that Intel's spec isn't for the maximum voltage the processor can support before incurring damage, but for the maximum voltage is can sustain. In theory at least, overclock with 1.5V should be fine for 24/7 use. I probably wouldn't use something that high myself, but that's more because I don't need the performance than anything else.

Should you be able to hear the arm reader yokey moving in a 2TB plugged external?

Lads can anyone recommend a media player that includes the ability to connect to a network and stream content?

(that plays more or less every single video file)

Can't say whether it is any better or worst than the WD TV Live, but I have an Asus O!Play and I have yet to meet a file that it could not play (although it very occasionally requires a firmware update to keep up to date with the latest codec tweaks). I'd prefer a HTPC myself but that is on a medium term to do list :)

On the negative side it was an absolute pain in the hole to connect to a Win 7 share drive but got there in the end, not sure if later revisions than mine sorted this out or not.

Is it the Asus O!Play HDP-R1 one you have Marco?

You know what the more I think about it, I think the HTPC is the way to go. I could really save on the energy bill

Has anyone here tried the new 3DMark? It's actually pretty nice :D.

If anyone wants to compare, this is what I got: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/50382?

    Ice Storm - 165,388
    Cloud Gate - 18,791
    Fire Strike - 6964

That's with my 7950 at 1150, as opposed to 1220 in my sig (Vapor-X VRMs getting too high for my liking, GPU temp never rose above 60C though).
