Cassettes.. SRAM vs SHIMANO

    Looking to get a few new cassettes and chains for the bikes.. always had shimano.. found it to be ok...

    anyone try SRAM and find it better than Shimano or vice versa??

    In theory Shimano have a better tooth profile.

    SRAM Red cassettes are noisy.

    SRAM and Shimano have some different sprocket combinations which may make your decision for you.

    I just replaced my Sram cassette with a very similar Sram cassette, the PG-1070 model. I can't compare it to Shimano, but well maintained Sram one lasted me over 20k km, so not bad. I may try a Shimano at the next change.

    Lad in lbs told me SRAM chains are more reliable. Other then that I can't really comment.

    thanks for that.. i know sram chains are better alright.. broke a few shimanos over the years...

    much of a muchness, srams 11/26 is a nice ratio for the hills...

    probably go for an ultegra anyways...
