My parents followed the tactic of throwing me in a pool and ignoring my cries of "HALP I'M DROWNING!" I got actual lessons when I was about seven. I doubt I can swim very well, but I'm fairly confident in the water. I think a lot of that is down to going to a lot of surfing beaches as a child and playing about in big waves. The thing there was it was always drilled into me to respect the lifeguards, do what they tell you and swim between the flags. It probably helped that there was a lifeguard there who was in his sixties, looked like he could fight off an army and was known for punching dangerous surfers off their boards and ripping them from the water.

Stheno, well done on the interview! However, I sort of wish you couldn't type. Your earlier spoiler tags were like a giant button with "Do not push" written on it.:(

YES! I always miss the photos of coffeebean when they go up here (I think that makes me sound creepier than I am, sorry java...) she's so cute! That doggy is definitely going to be used as a horsey at some stage though.

Lucky you! Just spend a bit of time bobbing about in the pool and getting used to the way it feels a bit weightless, try dancing/walking running and get comfortable, if you do that you are ready for lessons.

I have to apologise, Bean is a cutie, but is that a German Shepherd with a most handsome face?

Yep that's my German shepherd kojak! He's almost 6 and is the most spoilt child ever!

Awwww he just looks like my Jake (not with us anymore) and a bit like my Ben who lives with my ex, but I see him often.

Great big softys they both were.

So lovely to see a picture like that :)

Gorgeous dogs they are, love them to bits :) They might be big, but they are like big teddy bears, though they can get a bit fierce if their humans are threatened.

Hoping to go to my doctor tomorrow to talk about my concerns about my lack of progress on getting better, she's a good listener and fair, so I think it's worth it.

Nope not me, Jake died in 2006/7 long before I spent more than passing time on here, your Kojak reminds me of him though :)

Lovely to hear how well he has adapted to Zoe :) My Ben is like that, he adores children, I take him out to Howth sometimes with one of my other dogs, smaller than Ben, everyone goes for the little dog who is nervous, then they get to snuggle Ben, and just love him :)

And he has mascara eyes, you'd swear he'd been to the beautician every day to have his eyes done :)

Whenever ya want a German shepherd double date let me know! Big dogs rule!

Don't know about his beauty regime though, his whiskers are getting questionably grey, makes him look like Gary oldmam a la sirius black!

Will do, Ben loves other dogs, he's coming up to six this year and still is not grey, bit rare for the breed :)

Apologies for focusing on Kojak and not Zoe :)

Sheps are my favourite dog, and babies cry when they see my face :(

Thought you said sheep. And I thought they aren't a breed of dog, that's a completely different animal.

    Apologies I'm very very tired.

Ah it just suffers a bad reaction to small children, happens when you are the oldest of ten, and your OH's children are the same age as your younger brother and sister!

Java, baby Z is doing Blue Steel!

Just back from Django Unchained. Best movie I've seen in the last year by far. Above SKyfall for me even.

Was it really good? OH and I are thinking of using cinema nights as our treat nights, we are saving for a house.

Last movie we saw together in the movies is the one where Angelina Jolie lost a child and it was adopted, he fell asleep!

If you like action movies, it really is good. It's got a great mix of humour, action and even looks at social issues in a way. I like it.

    I think it's hilarious that
the blood looks so fake in it and it is so theatrical, it is clear that that was the intention though

It's long though, it was at least 3 hours I think. Jamie Foxx was amazing in it.

Has anyone done any training courses with Pitman Training (or similar)? Am trying to make myself a bit more employable, wondering if their courses are worth it? Would appreciate a PM if anyone has info. My CV is beyond pathetic :(

Bit long as I'm on crutches, I'd be crippled trying to stand up.

Ya know the way I've been designing 50th birthday presents for the OH since I've been posting in here?

    I think I've decided.

Trip to St. Petersburg *I reckon I'd have to drag him to the airport*
Dinner with his kids in the likes of Chapter One or One Pico ( teach them a bit of fine dining?)

I actually think he'd really enjoy both, loads of pics and memories, nothing tangible (he'll get a load of small things) but a really special time? We've about four pictures of us together which are all ****e, so I might include a photo session where we look presentable.

Plus his birthday is a Friday, so I can ask him to take the Mon/Tues off, whoohooo I think this may work very very well. :)

I'm still not sure if I liked it. I think its because I watched Lincoln and Aladdin before it so that was nearly 5 hours of movies on top of that.

I would love to go to St Petersburg and see a Mariinsky ballet. Definitely on my bucket list!! Probably not one for the OH though! I can barely convince mine to come see a ballet screening in the Light House Cinema with me :p

Therapy group in the morning. Bit wary of this one as it's more to do with distracting your mind from negetive thoughts. I'm not good with thinking postively as I tend to be a worrier at the best of times. :/ In other news, trying to motivate myself to paint but I'm the queen of procrastinating.

I hate being awake at this hour.

You should get up and go out for a run or a walk at that time. By 9am you'll be home, showered and have breakfast in you and you'll feel great for the rest of the day. :)

Was looking at the picture last night on my phone so it was too much hassle to post. He is gorgeous! So is the baby(obviously!) We always had German Shepherds growing up. Fantastic dogs. My parents still have one. I love spending time with her. Can't wait to move a little closer to home so I can see more of her. She's a big, daft eejit:)

Speaking of moving, only 4 more weeks! I can't wait. Woke this morning with a disgusting sinus/tiredness headache(not a good combo). Living near a large pub definitely has its drawbacks. They had a dj last night and the noise was unreal. Tablets are starting to kick in but heads still not great. Work is not going to be fun today. Teaching thirty 5-6 year olds is no problem ordinarily but not great when you feel like drilling a hole in your own head! Wonder would the coffee I crave for exhaustion make my head worse??

My body has decided it likes to wake up at 5.30 every morning now. Loving this because I can just lie in bed listening to the radio and not be in a mad rush to leave the house at 6.30 to get to the gym on time.
