Brand new xperia T out of the box today, connects to any router bar mine!!

It's just a little intellinet router but all my other devices connect to it happily...ipad, PC, laptop...but not the xperia..!

    Frustrated isn't the word!!

    Anybody?

My brother in law returned his a few weeks ago, couldn't connect to any WiFi source.
No point in having a fantastic phone not functioning properly out of the box.

Check with PC Companion to see if theres an update(probably is) and if it fixes it(may well do).

Same thing happened with my Sony Xperia T last November when i got it.
I just plugged out my router and left it for a minute and then plugged it back in again. When it was back up and running the phone connected and havent had a problem since.

    Software is updated ED E...

    Tried that yellow ear!

Weird thing is it says its connected but just won't give me any data!

It's a crappy little router and was thinking of changing...but meh, annoying!

Go into the wifi menu and hit menu, advanced, while connected to the problem unit.

See what IP it gives you.

Then go on your computer, hit WindowsKey + R. Type cmd, hit enter. Type ipconfig /a and hit enter.

One part of the response will have the sections :
    IPv4 Address
    and Default Gateway

    Post them back here.

Thanks Ed, on chatting with my housemate we decided to take this opportunity to get a new router :)

Was long overdue and considerably more powerful!

Gotta love Harvey Norman sales :) works perfectly!

I had the same problem with my Xperia T, would not work with my old Eircom Netopia router, while every other device I or my housemates have or did have in the past 5 years worked with it.. very annoying to say the least! Any other place that I tried the phone would connect to the wi-fi but not to with my router... which was just as annoying!!

Both eircom and 3 said that there was nothing wrong with router or phone respectively..

Like the OP replaced the router and it worked then! ...Still annoyed by the whole thing though.. took the gloss of my new shiny phone

I have had a lot of WiFi enabled devices, never an issue but my Xperia T drops connection at the far end of the house. If I wave it around it picks it.

I guess they WiFi radio on the T isn't great. Pity.. love the phone other than that.

have the xperia sola and had similar problems last night.
Was baffled till the mrs pointed out that the internet radio also was on the blink.
A simple power cycle reset (turn off-turn on!) of the router did the trick.
