Apparently the Japanese are going mad for it.
Some French-trained chef is cooking with soil, making delightful sounding haute cuisine like potatoes and dirt in a dirt sauce, potato and dirt soup, dirt risotto, and for dessert, dirt ice cream with a palate cleansing cup of dirt tea to finish off.
I know the Haitians were eating clay at one point, but in fairness, their country was destroyed and they'd nothing else to eat.
Different story in Japan. Mind you, they import the dirt from abroad so it doesn't have that glow-in-the-dark quality of the local soil.
So, would you pay 80 yos for a plate of finely cooked dirt?
