I was eating a creme egg as I read that, laughing with a whole creme egg in your mouth is a really bad idea :( and then I had to eat it really quickly cos it melted and went everywhere and now I miss it.

Reluctently rejoining Slimming World with my mother tomorrow. I'm terrified at what the scales will say. I feel like I've put back on all the weight I've lost plus extra since Christmas. :(

I'm really sick of this funk I'm in. I'll just have to throw myself into college work and stuff as much as !I can and hopefully that'll draw me out of it a bit. It's just so frustrating; I don't have the motivation to do anything, even getting up seems so difficult and pointless.

Tomorrow is going to be a hellish day, too. At least I'm meeting up with my bestie to have lunch, I hardly ever see her these days because of conflicting schedules :(

I got all the details today of my wisdom teeth removal next week, and there's a little note saying to take off any nail polish before I go to hospital. I'm still wracking my brains about how nail polish could have anything to do with wisdom teeth... anyone?

Are you going under general anaesthetic?

Far as I know they check your fingernails to see if you've got enough oxygen, with polish on they can't see that :)

Right part one of stupid assignment done.

    Part two underway.

    Part three under development.

If I don't have it done by 10pm I'll scream.

I thought it was for infection control? Any of my friends who work in hospitals can't wear polish for that reason anyway

I wondered too, but its to do with being under anesthetic, and checking that you are not going into shock. I had my toenails painted having Oreo and the midwives who were prepping me for an emergency C-section were like "oh we better take off that nail polish" and then seconds later airely said "ah no, sure we'll leave on the lovely polish"

It was only afterwards that I realised that they must have been worried about the baby's heart rate if they felt they didnt have 5 mins to take off the polish. I am so glad I didnt cop at the time or I would have panicked (which was probably why they were deliberately casual about it)

Re: Anaestetics and nail polish: Wow. Never knew that. The more you know!
My trip top the dentist today was actually a trip to the hygenist. Spent an hour in the chair with a local anaestetic numbing half my face whilst she did a scale and polish. Bled like a stuck pig afterwards due to me being a regular Bleeding Gums Murphy but my teeth are super clean right now so I can't complain.
Only niggle is that the hyginest looked at my wisdom teeth and declared that they're only stained rather than decayed. also, they're finished with my treatment in the HSE building with all the nice, kindly dental people and now if I need help with my teeth I have to go back to my old, crappy, condescending jackass of a dentist. :( Boo-urns.
Does anyone know how much it costs to go private to get your wisdom teeth out? The nagging pain at night is driving me INSANE!

They use a device called a pulse oximeter to track your blood oxygen levels. The device goes on the end of your finger and can track your oxygen percentages by passing light through your fingertip and doing calculations. The nail polish blocks the light and makes the sensor useless.

I have weird lumps on my head  one is behind my ear, this is a new one and one is on my neck, just below hairline at the back, that's there months. They both feel the same, hard and not squashy. Weird.

My dentist guessed at around €2000 for all four. Haven't actually checked it out though so it might vary.

Hard to explain it probably but I just open their mouth by gently squeezing the sides and putting the tablet in their throat. Close mouth. Hold mouth. Rub neck. Works 98% of the time. Sometimes you'd have to do it again but you'll very rarely struggle to get the tablet down. :)

Yep that's the right way to do it. Some dogs can be very uncooperative though.. :o
