For some reason Luiz has gone right back down to -62%? He's been confirmed injured, why would a lot of people transfer him IN?

Could be a glitch in FISO

Cheers that's what I thought but wasn't sure. I'm going to have some fun with this Wildcard for the next few days I reckon. Fallen 60,000 places by sticking until the end of the month.

Not a glitch , when your'e red flagged you need a higher number of transfers out to drop in price .

Thinks its x 1.5 when on yellow & x2.5 when on red .

Just to prove the point look at Jonny Evans , he was nowhere near a drop till his flag was changed from red to yellow this afternoon .

Yeh I noticed that too, knew he wasn't up top when I checked earlier. Nice of them to red flag him when he's almost certain of being back at the weekend.

Sure anyone can score a few goals any week, Michu can't be considered undroppable unless you've had him from the very beginning where you would stand to make a huge loss on him by shipping him now, he completely overachieved this year IMO, his conversion rate of chances was off the scale. With the recent spread of scorers throughout the Swansea team I wouldn't consider him value at his current price, only an opinion of course and sure to be proved wrong:o but he is not someone I expect huge returns from any more, still in my team so I hope I'm wrong.

Take a chance on someone else, why not???

Thanks for your input, I think I'll take a chance! My other option is to keep Michu but downgrade Bale to Lennon and then upgrade Sturridge to Aguero. Lennon has scored only 20 points less than Bale so far. That would leave me with a front 7 of Mata, Walcott, Fellaini, Michu, Lennon, RVP and Aguero which I would play every week. Decisions decisions!

Bale isn't on a downward trend, he's getting transfers in actually. He nearly went down to 9.7, but he's at -57% now.

Didn't cop that. Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to give him the chop anyway.

All this thinking is melting my head. It's come down to a choice between the following two teams:
    Begovic
    Zabaleta
    - Gibbs - Davies
    Michu - Walcott - Fellaini - Mata
    Lukaka - RVP - Suarez

    Begovic
    Cameron - Gibbs - Davies
    Michu - Walcott - Bale - Mata
    Ruiz - RVP - Suarez
    I'm leaning towards option 1.

Swansea are in the League Cup final, they're both out of the FA cup so I'm guessing maybe on an FA cup weekend?

Liverpool v Swansea now in gw26. DGW for both clubs that week.

Lverpool face WBA (H) and Swansea (H)
Swansea face QPR (H) and Liverpool (A)

    Both clubs then miss gw27.

with liverpool and swansea both out of the fa cup now theres a fair chance that game will be scheduled for the 5th rd fa cup weekend Feb 16 which would be classed as GW 26.
    Giving us a DGW of
    Swansea QPR H Liverpool A
    Liverpool WBA H Swansea H
Both Swansea and Liverpool wont have a game the week after GW 27.

nice i called that an hour after Liverpool cup exit on sun made my transfer this wk to give me to funds to go fellani away to utd to michu for the potential dgw . I love it when a plan comes together

Bit of tightrope walking involved there then, don't want to be stuck with them for the following week, it gives me the excuse I've been looking for to dump Michu anyway, now I know my transfer out in a few weeks.

i'll be making no special plans for that DGW.

i already have Davies, Michu and Sturridge.

the fact i have a decent bench means I should be able to get through the following GW without taking a hit.

thanks FG it looks now like a Liv def might be a good option for that week

I have Michu, Sturridge and Davies. I have enough Swansea coverage but will get in 2 more Liverpool.

Might even go with Sturridge AND Suarez! If I don't, I'll get in Gerrard. Also looking at a Liverpool defender. If I can afford Johnson, I'll get him as a cheeky punt.

Will have to keep 2 transfers for gw27 though as I'd have 5 not playing lol. I do have my wildcard though...

EDIT: Or fcuk it and go with Gerrard, Suarez AND Sturridge. Muahahahahahahaaaaa etc.

good call. i might even get Gerrard myself. just have Sturridge as is. then Enrique or Johnson in defense

I've Michu and Suarez, and soon to be Davies. Might consider Gerrard for Bale depending on how the next two weeks go. Would need to be for that week only though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,682 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

is it not foolish to get in a ton of those players just for that DGW, considering both clubs miss the following GW?

    or am i missing something?

Yes it would be foolish. I've been planning Davies for Demel anyway so this is just a bonus. The only specific transfer I would consider for the DGW would be Gerrard for Bale, and then probably swap back after. I think it's worth the risk and I've no other transfers in mind this week anyway. Might even give Gerrard the armband.

Swansea's keeper could be one to look at, still jumping between Vorm and Tremmel though. Wisdom could also be an option if he's playing, although I wouldn't want to be stuck with Liverpool defenders after this GW so will probably avoid them.

it kind of depends. if you have a wildcard like FG you're grand... :p otherwise you might take a gamble, but with an eye on the next gw. i'm looking at 3 Liv in total, and no Swansea. most likely i'd be shipping Gerrard to get Bale back after the dgw, meaning i'd just have 2 non-playing for gw27. should be able to manage

Just a word of caution in that Liverpool play away to Zenit on the Thursday between these games. Rotation/fatigue could be a factor here, although you would expect them to give priority to the league fixtures.

    they will.

i honesty don't think rotation will be a worry for Liverpool for the League.

just a heads up too, if Christopher Samba goes to QPR, and is anywhere around the £5.0m mark, then he could be an excellent addition.

£5.5-6.0m and you might be pushing it.

It's madness UNLESS you have an exit strategy in place. 4 is probably a good number (2 from each team or Michu plus 3 Liverpool). A free transfer will get you 11 for the following week. I'd love to get in Fabio (QPR) but he also misses GW27.

If I have 5 players come gw26, I'll either have 2 FT saved or I have spotted a 4-point hit that should do well.

For the DGW I already have sturridge wont make a transfer this week and will bring in 2 more for the DGW. Fellani away to Utd is coming out for either Michu or Gerarrd. Ill also bring in suarez for more than likely Aguero (although they have Southampton and for this reason Im considering taking out RVP ( home to everton with a fair chance of him not starting they play Real 3 days later). RVP out would be for 1 week only and would cost me .4 to buy him back. Something to consider but will more than likely be Aguero that I take out for 1 week.

True, but their record following EL games this season is poor. Where they have played a strong team in the EL, off the top of my head their record is:
    Arsenal (H) 0-2
    Stoke (H) 0-0
    Everton (A) 2-2
    Swansea (A) 0-0
    West Ham (A) 3-2

So fatigue could be a factor, and in fairness they have added attacking options this month so there could be some rotation. I think it is just something to keep in mind.

the midweek trip to zenit for liverpool and the possibility that swansea have their eye off the ball because of the cup final does lessen the appeal somewhat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Suarez is unlikely to be rotated, they are nothing without him.

The league is key this year, Liverpool have been rubbish the last decade and will be keen to finish highly this season. A lot will depend on tonight's game, Liverpool win and they go level on points with Arsenal, and possibly just 1 point behind Everton if they slip up later. Swansea and West Brom are actually rivals of Liverpool's this season, all three are currently level on points. I would image Rodgers will go all out to win both games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

I dont think its a fear the likes of suarez sturridge(anyone now if hes cup tied) gerrard will play both games just that travelling to zenit and back will take it out of the squad granted them 3 probably wont play and mightnt even travel, but liverpools squad isnt particularly big so atleast 4 or 5 of their starting eleven will play on the thurs night. Having said that Ill probably go for the 3 above Id just lessens the potential somewhat.

Is the bigger risk not Swansea rotation? Seeing as they have their biggest game in a long time the following weekend?

I have 1 Liverpool and 2 Swansea players as is,i don't think i am going to get too caught up in this DGW especially as both have no game the following week.
