My Nintendo account can't be linked to new wii u?? WTF

    Hi sold my wii u before Xmas so got new one today and cant link my old account to it as its saying my user is linked to a different wii u?? Any ideas?? I erased all my data from other console btw

    Some reports claim that people can use their original Wii U Network ID on replacement consoles,but not sure if this applies to you(as your's is brand new).

    I don't know but maybe someone more clued up on Nintendo side of things,might
    be more helpful than me.

    Kind of annoying to think accounts remain linked to a console.. What if console breaks? If you bought games do they die with uswrname then??

    Nintendo support will unlink the account in that event, from stories I've heard on the Internet.

    I also hear they are working on not having them linked to hardware.
    Probably similar to how they were working on the DSi to 3DS transfer app, knowing Nintendo.

    Getting my 3ds account transferred from one handset to another took 5 months or so. Had to send it to them. If you could send the busted and replacement wiiu they might be quicker, and but they appear to be paranoid as hell that people might use account cloning to pirate games
