    Scrum is shocking.

    Kilcoyne did well there.

EDIT: The whole scrum did excellent on the next scrum. Bent must be mentally strong. Getting killed, but kept it together!

And a penalty :) How did Coughlan get that ball so quickly :)

Don't think I've ever heard RTE commentators be so negative about a player as they've just been about Bent

If he were really Irish they wouldnt be quite so blunt.

How the hell did we win that scrum?

I saw some of Bent in the itm cup and he was a solid scrummager.

I mean questions must be asked of Michael Bent and to a lesser extent Kilcoyne.

Did Toner and Stevenson swap sides in the scrum there?

Can't see the game but any front row relying on DT in the engine room will obviously be in trouble.
6'10" is great in the lineout, but if there's no muscle behind it you may as well have ROG in there......

Michael Bent is getting murdered out there. How the hell did he get drafted into te Irish squad and prevented young Irish players getting their chance.

    It's disgraceful really

what young player was he preventing getting a chance? because the problem was that there wasn't a young player capable of coming in.

Commentators being WAY too harsh on Bent there. Granted he got mullered on technique a couple of times, but a lot of the time in this half Bent was locking out, but it was the communal strength from behind in the English scrum that was following through. You can't expect a prop to lock out his oppenent and then hold off the surge of 7 other players, the power just never came from behind him.

He locked out the scrum superbly towards the end there, but the commentators seem hell bent (pardon the pun) with pinning the blame on Bent!

Im completly biased, but does anyone else think that James Coughlan is head an shoulders above any other player out there?

He's doing nothing fancy, but everything he's doing is effective :)

I'm intrigued to see when Madigan and Keatley will come on.

The magnificent Stephen archer who Thornley believes can replace BJ Botha

Have to say Coughlin is having a stormer. He is cleaning up brilliantly behind a retreating scrum and is generally everywhere. Really good performance from him.

Coughlan and Marshall have played well for Ireland, Marshall has got a great pass.

He's 20 odd stone... plenty of muscle just not enough aggression.

Good start but once England realised they had the dominance in the scrum, they kept things tighter and we couldn't hold the ball. So yeah, good that we're 10-0 up, the defence has been good.

    Coughlan is immense though.

I would have thought Stevenson would be behind the TH side no?

He's having a fantastic game to be fair to him. Best Irish player out there in the first half. Shows good leadership too.

He's doing grand....diidn't really see the ball after 20 minutes though. I think Madigan to come on would be good.
