Foil vs Meche highlights

What is the difference between these two? I know that normal highlights are applied using foils. For meche, I heard that there is a cap (?) and they pull strands out of that. Isn't that uncomfortable? And how does the result differs? Which one would be more natural? Phew, so many questions!

    Thanks in advance!

Meche highlights are similar to foils except they use plastic strips as opposed to foil packets. I usually have meche highlights. The couple of times I've had foils I found some of the colour bled through-never happened with the meche.

The cap is the really old way of doing highlights. It's rarely used in salons now unless the person has really short hair.

Mesh and foil are just two different methods of doing the same thing.
Foil is cheaper to buy than mesh packets though.

I find meche can be a little bit painful when they're being pulled out at the end, compared to foils.
