Any idea how much this repair will cost?

Firstly apologies if this is a stupid question or one that can't be answered here but I looked online and can't find much info on it.

The front passenger door on my 2005 1.3L Hyundai Accent is malfunctioning and will not open without applying great pressure to the locking mechanism and then opening the handle. I want to get this fixed before my NCT in March but what I am wondering is if anyone knows if this a hard problem to fix and roughly how much it would cost me to get fixed in a garage including the labour?

    Thanks in advance :)

If you feel up to a bit of DIY you could try taking off the inside of the door and seeing if there is something obviously broken, it might save you a lot of money to replace a small part yourself - here's a video off you-tube that explains how to

Before you take anything apart, try lubricating the lock and striker mechanism, spraying well into the lock itself.
Use a lubrication oil, not WD40 or anything similar.

Having watched the NCT in motion at the weekend, the only door they all opened was the driver door. Send for the NCT and if they pick it up, then get it fixed if needed :D

+1 to this - even if it fails 1st time it will be a visual inspection only on the retest so no fee.
