If it's that Ford Lunar Metallic I'm thinking of, it's actually quite nice and much cooler than Silver. (but anything is, really)

That's the one alright. Just had a change of heart towards the end. I'll be sad to see the Superb go though if we don't manage to buy it :(.

Fantastic to see a 13 year old car in that condition. How long have you had it and what mileage is on it? Please keep it as is, not too many unmodified ones left, especially in that condition.

There was a mix up on the lists this time around where his boss didn't get any input on the cars chosen, if he had some input there would have been a better choice of cars. My dad was trying his best to get another Superb but no luck.

There's also a weird thing with prices with Leaseplan where they don't give you a straight value to use to get different spec on cars. For example another car on his list was the Insignia Tourer costing I think 30K base which would have gotten an Elegance Superb. The Mondeo was also only valued around 25k base but that didn't leave 5k for spec/extras etc.

You lucky, lucky bastard! I'd love a Falcon. Any tips on importing one?

how much would that falcon in your spec will set you back? Somehow i have a feeling we could only afford a low spec fiesta for same money here.

Very nice. What were your thoughts on Falcon vs HSV GTS (or whatever HSV it competes with)?

Unsurprisingly the same reason as lots of stuff will never make it here, I checked and it would have over EUR2000 tax per annum, off the wall rate VRT (due to high CO2) and gets about 20mpg. In Oz its sold with the option from factory of LPG or Liquid-injection LPG (higher performance version).. neither of which are applicable here.

Its a great example of what totally sucks about our part of the world.

+1. That's the reason I exported my Ford Explorer 4.0L to Spain where I can enjoy driving it!

Because Ireland is destroyed when it comes to motoring, you need to be rich to own cars like that back home:(

Thanks. Seven months ago I was struggling to keep a 99 ford focus on the road. Lesson number one, leave the country!
To import one will be very expensive, shipping container, VRT, customs etc.

About $42000 with over 10k off. I had a look into getting an FPV model but they are too expensive to maintain and buy. A set of brake pads cost $1000 for example:eek:

Holden dosen't do turbo models, just V6's and V8's. Since the introduction of the FG Falcon in 08 it seems to be the better car. I know a few people who had commodores and once they drove the FG Falcon they never looked back. The Ford also wins in the reliability department too. The Holden commodore SS equivalent to this is a 6 litre V8, same torque and same power. This Falcon is a 4 litre turbo. It has the same roughly torque as a Lamborghini Gallardo.
The good thing about the turbo is it can be tuned up easily enough. Once I get the alloys sprayed black and get it lower a bit I'll tune it to about 450 - 500 hp.
The HSV models are higher spec than this so thats why Ford have the FPV range which piss on the Holdens. Ill upload a few pics onto the HWIST thread.

The same colour was not a deliberate choice. we bought the 11 reg new and liked that colour so picked it. Then when my dad went to buy a second hand one the above one was the cleanest one he could find. The colour didnt really bother him. it is funny though same car practically same colour.
