    Hi all,

looking for advise a bike for work/communting around, nothing too serious. i'd like it to be light but a strong frame. i'd prefer disc brakes and quick shift gears. might try do a few short bike races with it,

i have it narrowed down to the 2 bikes above:

    Raleigh AIRLite SF3.0
    http://eurocycles.com/ie/product/raleigh/airlite-sf3-0
    700euro

    or

    Felt QX85
    http://eurocycles.com/ie/product/felt/qx85-mens-midnight
    800euro

also is there must of a difference between a bike with suspension and without. i was told you can lock them and they ride like a rigid, is it just a weight thing, and any idea how much weight extra it is?

any advise will be helpful and appreciated, also i looking are 2 good or bad bikes above over to other suggestion, under the 1k mark.

had the qx65 before and I really liked it.but if your going to be paying 800e for a bike I suggest you get something with drop bars or youll regret it eventually.also dont bother with suspension if your planning on doing mostly road cycling

i was staying clear of drop bars because i have a bad back and i dont want to upset it.

The felt looks better. Flat bars are grand if you wont be doing mad distance. I know plenty lads who never get into the drops but at least you will have more options for moving around on longer cycles.
