couldnt agree more. What is the point of having the likes of Arshavin if he's never going to be used. Today is a perfect chance to involve him. If Santi or Jack get injured then we're ****ed

Maybe when they reveal Walcott they'll also reveal some surprise signings. To save on the hassle of having more than one press conference ya know.

Arshavin's best performances for us recently have come when he played in the Santi role. Its his best position, so no suprise there.

It's always been his best position in fairness. Agree 100% he should get a start tonight. Expect Coq to start. After Sunday we need a lift so much, especially with Chelski away around the corner.

Arshavin has been muck for us pointless blaming his position, would rather see eisfield get a game than someone who has no future at the club

We still did not win sweet FA that season with those players so one has to question whether its wenger to really blame for us not winning anything

God I'd love to still have Cesc...

Do we really need to play our best players? let Ashavin play instead of carzola. if things turn to ****, bring carzola on

The problem is that if AW rests players and we go out, the inevitable absolute **** storm that would result in the media and among the fans would probably derail the rest of the season. Can you imagine the field day that SSN would have?

Geoff Arsenal ‏@GeoffArsenal Wow. If what i just heard comes off. It shows very big intention from Arsenal FC. Please don't ask for now, just cross all parts of the body

Apparently this guy has pretty close ties with Arsenal and his opinion is highly regarded around the twitosphere. Does it mean we've finally woken up to smell the roses??

Hopefully, but I'm sick **** of getting my hopes up!

I really wouldn't have a clue. The big intention part has me stumped. I reckon Arsenal are more likely go for a couple of quality players instead of one world beater.
Altho there is talk from France that the m'Vila deal to QPR still isn't a hundred percent as there is now a better offer on the table. But better offer and Arsenal don't exactly go together.. :(

    Too true.

"We made a bid for Hazard but Lille wanted too much" - Well yes Arsene, they aren't going to let one of the most rated young players in Europe leave for 10 million. Did the same with Goetze as well.

He can say we tried to sign them, which is technically true as a bid is made, but a bid so negligible that he knows it's going to be rebuffed so there's no danger of him having to spend money. It's nearly always rolled out around Season Ticket renewal time so people will be more inclined to renew as it looks like he's finally changed his ways.

    Hopefully we're reassembling the invincibles!

Apparently United's Zaha bid was rejected, maybe we've pipped them? Would be great and all, but signing an unproven youngster from a Championship side doesn't exactly scream big intentions to me.

    Edison Cavani anyone?
    Doubt it's true.

I'm a bit meh on zaha If we get him good if we don't wouldn't really bother me

God dammit!!! What a pain in the arse.

Guess there can't be that many though.

Ideally though if you were to ask me, what we need is a tough nippy CF. Suarez or Tevez or someone like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Bet now this will be the same as our audacious move for Goetze or Hazard when we "willing" to shell out 30 million plus for either. But in reality i reckon Arsenal knew that they could never get either and it will be the same for whoever we are chasing now.
It all seems like a little ploy to make the fans believe that they are actually after somebody of note.

Neither M'Vila or Zaha would be a signal of intent for me, hoping if this is true its somebody else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,752 ✭✭✭Mr Blobby

    Belhanda maybe ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,469 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Maybe it's Pep, and he's bringing Fabregas back with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,629 ✭✭✭wonga77

Looks like Cavani is the rumour. Highly doubt it but we can dream...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,880 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

If he even expresses interest in Cavani it means he's giving up on Giroud and the Walcott striker thing so I highly doubt it...but fingers crossed.

Was the touted figure for M'Vila in the summer not something around the £15-20mill mark?
If we let QPR get him for £7m I think that'd be a lost opportunity.
I'll admit I haven't watched him this year but have seen him play before and thought he was tidy, so unless he's dipped hugely this year, he'd fill a spot we need a player in at DM.
I know he has off the pitch problems, but wasn't RvP a bit of a runt before Wenger signed him? Look how he matured after a while. (Still a b*llocks though)

"Hello Napoli, we want Cavani. £10m and Arshavin. Hello,....hello?"

"We tried to sign Cavani. Our bid was not good enough. I think it shows good intention. We can compete with the best financially".

Whatever he did with France has turned Wenger right off him. Must have been something big if QPR are the only team in for him now. Dont think spurs are even showing much interest and they do be trying to sign everyone we're even linked with, let alone interested in.

Do wonder what happened that Wenger seemingly has no interest anymore.
