Thought that team showed plenty of fight and spirit

And in wilshere we have a player we can build a team around was just brilliant today

horrible gutless first half performance. Improved in the second but just not good enough. Not good enough for arsenal.

It's not Wenger the money problem lies with. I question his tactics and realism with what he has access to but as someone pointed out before, he went and splurged on Reyes halfway through the unbeaten season, he's not afraid to spend.

Shame we got a player sent off so early, thought was even enough until that point and then there was only really one ending.
Although we did play well in the second half, but never really looked like scoring.

Can someone please sum up our shambles of a team! That was painful to watch yet again today and i think its worse we are getting.

You do realise we played most of that game with 10 men yeah

Lets not overreact about the team when they went down to 10 men against the champions after 10 minutes.

Blame Koscienly or the ref if you want, but not the other players who played (bar maybe Walcott?)

Woj - Made a few great saves, I'd love to see his record on penos too, seems to save a lot.
Sagna - Played as a one man right hand side, incredible stamina and work rate.
Vermaelen - not his best performance but a lot of drive and passion
Mertesacker - Plenty of passion but he really isn't much use in the air for a big lad is he?
Gibbs - similar to Sagna, covered incredible an incredible amount of ground.
Jack - Superb performance and never gave up despite having lumps kicked out of him.
Ramsey - did alright when he came on, was fouled virtually every time he got the ball
Diaby - bit disappointing but couldn't expect much
Podolski - one of the few to show real passion and drive in the first half
Walcott - awful tbh, was non existent
    throughout the game
Giroud - Put in a shift but his holding up play is actually quite poor

Koscienly - one blunder too many for me, how many own goals/gaffes can we put up with?

Giroud had more touches than Walcott today

Feel sorry for Jack today. City were clearly told from to kick him off the ball from minute one of the game. Disgrace.

Podolski was just awful mate, delighted he was reefed off just after 55 minutes.

I actually thought he played quite well, he was one of the only people trying to force the issue in the second quarter of the game for us

Completely disagree. Also think if he had the chances through the middle Walcott has gotten we'd be in a far better position.

Is Walcott worth £5m per year based on that performance?

Walcott was hurtful to look at today. Verminator.... should lose that title. The lad is not at the races this season and is too inconsistent.

Wilshere was a joy to watch, Sagna has an unbelievable engine. Don't know how he did his running constantly all game.

Diaby, it was great to see him back. It gave us a little more presence in the middle although his defending was suspect at times and a bit lose on passes but what can we expect after being out for a 3 month period.

Pity it wasn't 11 v 11 but fcuk it we may move on. Cannot be complacent with our fixture list. Not a great start having everyone knackered now.

We don't have anyone good enough to replace him so he can have a rest but according to Wenger we have a 'balanced' squad. Utter shiite.

I don't know, he's an asset for sure and his record is impressive looking but how many of his goals came in crazy games when everyone was banging them in? He disappears in the tough games. Even in the second half when others were trying to get something out of the match he was nowhere to be seen today.

I'm happy to have him in the team, but he's not going to be the focal point he thinks he is IMO.

Arteta out for 3 weeks - not as worried about this as I would have been before today's game bizarrely enough. Diaby did ok considering it was his first game back and Ramsey looked great when he came on. What is the story with Rosicky though ? Not even on the bench today.

I don't really care tbh, he chips in with 10+ goals a season, he is an option. He has pushed the boards hand more than others and seems to have won. Arsenal fans are turning into the board, we shouldn't give a toss what we pay

Would rather we kept him him than gave him away for free

Ramsey barely done anything he was hardly great in fairness. Diaby was rubbish should have been hauled off at HT.

Another poor performance. Cant score goals when we need them. Crowd was fully behind the players today also.

United have about 3 or 4 players similar to Walcott, very good players but not consistent enough to carry a team. Guys like Young, Welbeck, Nani or Hernandez are taken off early if they're not doing the business. Walcott would be the same there, but for us he has to be left on because there's no other option

Everyone knows he's inconsistant. Much better to get a young English player like him tied down to a long contract either way. He'll still be worth a good bit even if we decide to sell him later.

Unlucky for us today with Dean doing us no favours. A penalty probably but the sending off, very harsh. Not a game to judge the team, with us down to 10 men so early and on the back foot for most of the match and Ox C off. City were not vintage and we should take some positives out of the game. Walcott so overrated and not worthy of main striker IMO. He has flashes of brilliance but not like the other guy who plays for Man Utd now :(, who delivers game after game.

I think if we don't strengthen we won't get top 4
