So would we all be happy with a point tomorrow? I would but not very confident of getting it.

Depends on the performance - I think we can pick up all 3 points tomorrow though

We haven't lost at home to Man City since 1975.
We can win tomorrow. Yaya out for them too.

    Yaya out for them too.

And Gervinho's out for us. That's also a plus :D

Forgot about Yaya, City aren't the same team without him.

At the end of last season I thought Gervinho would/could be a brilliant player for us this season. I was wrong.

Same, I made a "bold prediction" to my friends that he'd be a big player for us this season.
    Never again

He started well enough. I was starting to think he just needed to settle. Unfortunatly he has been nothing but crap since then.

A team that finishes 19 points ahead of ya is not a rival

But likewise Wenger is employed to reduce the gaps to rivals, not widen it. Having said that yesterday he's admitted we're not in the business of competing at the moment, we exist to sell our best players for profit and get 4th place. That's considered achievement.

That's a bit arrogant and a put down to the supporters who pay his and the players wages. Very poor comment if true.

We need a result/performance tomorrow. Wouldn't mind that Arteta strike again.

Giroud confirmed fit for tomorrow, great news. Really hope he starts.

I think we're due one of our crazy games tomorow imo City have a few missing and they'll need to go for the win especially if as expected United despatch Liverpool I'll go out on a limb and say 4-2 to us

Jay Rodriguez's dive today was every inch the equal of Santi's earlier in the season. We won't hear a peep about it because he's english

    http://www.attackingsoccer.com/2013/01/blatant-jay-rodriguez-dive-v-aston-villa/

Also l'equipe reporting that M'vila happy to go to qpr, they've offered 9mil euros, rennes want 12m euro and we had a 20m euro bid rejected last year.

If he was worth bidding 20m for last year surely he's worth 12m euro this year.

Wenger must have Manicini on speed dial, they seem to be sharing the same excuse book.

im not asking Wenger or Arsenal to compete with the money bags Man City and compete with the Man u and all their cynicism and deep pockets.... all I want is for us to go out and
dispatch Bradford in the quarters of the league cup
dont throw away a 4-0 lead against NewC
be able to defend corners and free kicks
find a forward who can score 15 goals in the league a season
beat Birmingham in a league cup final
win most games in which we have 70% possesion

if we can get to the point where we accomplish some of these things then maybe we will find ourselves in a different position. How we accomplish them is down to the manager and if we cant seem todo that then its the managers fault.

    Wenger on tomorrow's match -

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11670/8392133/Arsene-Wenger-says-a-win-is-vital-for-both-Arsenal-and-Manchester-City

Could someone translate this bit ???

"At the moment we are still trying to shorten the distance between us and the top," he said.

"The players are ambitious. This group has a fantastic attitude.

"They were not always playing in a positive environment, so it was not easy for them, but I could not for one day fault their concentration and focus to do well.

"I want this group to be rewarded and hope we can show that in the coming months."

Wrong imo, you wont hear a peep about it because of the club he plays for nothing to do with being English Ashley Young gets grief for diving and hes English, its hes a non high profile player playing for a non high profile club which is why the media wont latch onto it, and the general football fan wont care less.

If arteta fails his fitness test tomorrow he should start with coq

or diaby. But Coq should be playing a few more games to give Arteta a rest.

As most of what you're asking for already hasn't happened, you're asking for the impossble

    What's this stuff about M'Villa and a 8mill asking price ?

    I'm assuming its false.

We should still go for it, A player of his ilk is needed for a bit of balance in the midfield

he must have fúcked up big time, whatever he was at with the french NT probably done it, i'd think they'd get over the assault thing - or could be a combination of both, though they're the only two i'm aware off might be more

being watched by Arsenal for years, tottenham interested, now he wants to join QPR - smart enough to insert a release clause if they're relegated though :pac: , opportunity to prove himself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭brianregan09

It beggars belief if it goes through how Qpr have been able to get him Julion Cesar and Stephane Mbia all who would have been great signings for Arsenal they must have told them that they coming to Chelsea and they just changed jerseys :O

The M'Vila thing is a bit bizarre, this should be were Wenger shows his managerial skills. A good young player who other teams are scared to touch due to his attitude and reputation..sounds awfully like a certain Dutch striker we had recently.
