If you dont no its a girls car you must be a girl

    Hang on a second:

If girls don't know that minis are girls' cars, how do they know they're supposed to drive them?

    Do their men tell them?

    Hmm.

Now now. Lets take the whole sentence in context, shall we?

Its a car, people. Not a gender or a sexual preference.

All the people saying they're gay... A cooper s works would probably run rings around your cars.

You could say that about virtually everything on the market. Movies, literature, cosmetics.

What's the problem if some people view a car as being geared more towards women? All it means is that it isn't to their taste.

Next thing you know there will be posters saying only women should wear thongs. . .

It's one thing to associate a car with a gender, but another to ridicule the idea of someone driving the "wrong" car without being able to explain why they would think less of someone driving said car, as some posters have done.

I don't think the mini cooper s is girly in any way me and hubby were thinkin bout one at one point but now baby on the way there not the best family car. You like you should buy but note I drove the 1.6 straight for awhile and it's a thirsty bugger heavy little car for that size engine it (great on corners tho)

Maybe the newer models have become a 'must-have' for girls new to the road, but the older ones are just unreal. Park it anywhere :D

OP, just drive whatever you want to drive and dont worry about anyone else.
Im a man and would love a Mini, buy the top spec you can afford, then spend a bit of time and money doing performance modifications and the first time anyone gives you any grief take them for a little drive up a twisty country road, they will soon change their mind.

Drive what you like, but there's something unnatural looking about a bloke driving a Mini, regardless of what extra letters it has. Definitely a car that is designed to get women behind the wheel. Suits my sister, but not her hubby.

So what. There have been gay olympic champions too - speediness is not a pure gender trait.

So is a Lexus a man's car? In the unlikely event that I'll ever be able to afford one, I need to know whether or not I should purchase it, in case it's only for men and would make me look like a lesbian.
But can't you explain why? Is it because it's smaller than most cars? If so, I don't see the correlation between gender and car size.
    It just is moo fact

Definitely a girly car, just like an audi TT.

    Lexus is for old people.

A lot of people seem to be confusing gender with job description.

It's seen as a hairdressers car in the same way as an A4 is sales reps car or a Mondeo as an unmarked Garda car. Or a Merc S Class as a CEO/TD's car.

A MX-5 is girly? News to me. I don't have any car (or a license), but I could go for one of those, since I would want to enjoy driving. It's that simple.

Strikes me that sportier girls and country girls don't mind driving cars that might otherwise be viewed as mens' cars; big old Mercs, Land Rovers, VW Passats, etc.

I think the OP should definitely go for it. I got myself a Cooper D this year, and drove a One D previous to that. They are amazing cars and I really wish more men would drive them! They are so cheap to run as well, and they look amazing. I really hate when people label them as a womens car!

    Women: Any Mini

Men: Old mini or a new mini with a decent engine/spec (pref a John Cooper Works).
