I posted a question on the genealogy forum and it was suggested that I try this forum as somebody here may be able to help. I was wondering if anybody knows the location of Gallagher's Lane in Cork City and what happened to it?It appears on the 1901 census and describes it as being off Old Youghal Road but it seems to be…

I posted a question on the genealogy forum and it was suggested that I try this forum as somebody here may be able to help. I was wondering if anybody knows the location of Gallagher's Lane in Cork City and what happened to it?It appears on the 1901 census and describes it as being off Old Youghal Road but it seems to be gone by 1911. I've looked it up on the Cork Past and Present website but was unsuccessful and it doesnt seem to appear on any maps that ive seen. Any information about it would be a great help.Thanks!

I've had a look on http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,588882,739883,0,10 but I can't see any mention of gallagher's lane on either historical map. More than likely it would be a very small lane and would'nt show up on the maps. Best of luck with it.
