Tends to be predominantly a female market, but I've seen plenty men drive them. Theyre not as girly as the VW beetles. One of my friends has a really old mini and he loves it.

Why would you care what people think anyway?

Go for it. The mini cooper isn't girly, it's got a nice bit of grunt.

You will be fine once your

blonde with hair tied up in a funny way, huge oversize sunglasses, Dundrum car park permit, latest fancy (pink) smartphone, oh and always carry a female passenger.

Is it the old style mini or the new shape? I drove the new cooper s and that's a great car to drive. Standard mini I think is for girls, the cooper or cooper s acceptable for a guy to drive.

Needs to be the Cooper S or JC Works

Then if anyone laughs at you at traffic lights, just floor it on green :)

Girls always look way better in a mini. Blokes legs are waay too fat and hairy in fairness.

If you let other peoples opinion dictate what you will drive (or anything you do in life for that matter) you are nothing but a fool. Do what ever the **** you want and **** what other people think.

Never ever make a purchase that might expose you to the conformist ridicule of your peers.

Just ask them for a list of acceptable car brands you ate allowed to purchase.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,207 ✭✭✭The King of Moo

Why would you care to impress people so stupid as to base their opinion of a person on the size of their car?

It's entirely irrelevant to what that person is like, and particularly stupid to judge a city-dweller on having a small car, which is much more practical for city driving than a small-penis compensator.

It'd be like me saying I'd never go out with a woman with a small handbag.

It's a question of discerning. I would like to make an educated decision in all cases and if I did end up realising that this thing I've just bought is a watered down version of the thing I should have bought then I'll feel like a dope. I've had all kinds of cars over the years from classic beetles to 280hp Subarus and all of them I knew what I was getting into and the compromises I was making, if any.

What people drive is all about perceptions for a lot of people.
