In fairness there's the *possibility* he desperately needed to go to the toilet and that SuperValu was the only place nearby but I'd imagine it was to pick up shopping. It doesn't take 10 minutes to take a s**t!

I know exactly how the OP feels. It's this attitude that permeates all of DB. They know they can get away with sub-standard service with 0 repercussions. We've all seen it.

Just the other day I was waiting for a bus at the terminus. It arrives 7 minutes after the time it was supposed to depart which means he was probably around 17-22 minutes late (they normally park up for about 10-15 minutes). There were 4 people including myself waiting and I was about to find an alternative route just before he arrived.

You'd think he'd let people straight on and try catch up with the timetable but no. He turns off the lights and leaves the door closed. I knocked on the window and he just shakes his head. I said "YOU'RE LATE", shakes his head again. I was pisssed off so I pressed the emergency open button under the flap thing and he tells me he's going to leave after his cigarette!!

I should point out that this was about 10 pm so there was no traffic to blame it on. The driver is running 20 minutes late and instead of apologising, explaining the reason for the delay and getting a move on he decides, instead, to leave the customers clueless outside in the cold and have his well deserved smoke break.

In any other job if you're tight on time or things are extra busy you have to just suck it up and work that bit extra. But no, not for the CIE jobs club - it's an employee orientated company, never mind the customers.

Thank you very much, finally someone with some logic and common sense, as opposed to petty sarcasm and snide comments (a clear sign of too low intelligence to contribute anything constructive to the conversation) :p

Was it an emergency that you had to take it upon yourself to open the door.
I hope he told you that you had no right and where to go.

I am not sad enough to be forced to work my life to suit the bowel movements of a bus driver as I can afford a nice car(thanks SIPTU) .You are proving my point. You wouldn't open your mouth to me face to face, just like the bus driver. The only "keyboard warrior" on this thread is you.

Im putting my money towards educating myself so too bad if I cant afford a car, not all of us are incompetents protected by SIPTU. And clearly your the keyboard warrior, resorting to name calling like a child

Did any of you know that the dance-hit 'Open Your Mind' by USURA was a sample of a Simple Minds song? Only discovered that there now, fascinating.

DB must charge an awful lot so if you're spending 40% of your income per year on them.

Jaysus we have become what we found so funny about the Americans not that long ago. When the driver came up the stairs did you speak to him and say you were in a rush and was there anyway he could continue? did anyone say anything when he arrived back much later than expected? did you say anything as you got off the bus?

What money? In your opening post you stated that 700 euros is 40% of your money. You don't need to be Carol Vorderman to work out that 100% of your money is a heady 1750 euros. You subtract the 700 you grudgingly pay the poor bus men, you have 1050 left.Assuming you don't have to spend money on food, books, Wd40 for your knees or surgery to remove some bus drivers boot from your rectum, what sort of an education does 1050 pa get you?
