Ridge tile recommendations for natural slate

Hey all,
Have just sourced some natural slate for our new build. We've gone with Cupa 3 Heavy, and I know a few others here have also gone with them. I'm just curious as to what ridge tiles people here have been using for natural slate roofs (not just those using the Cupa slates). If any of you have photos, that would be great also.

Schiedel in Ireland have a plain angle clay ridge tile, 450mm long and various angles are available. A lot of builder merchants would deal with this co. i sold a lot of these with the slate you have.

google company and you can see images of them.

Tip: get some copper wire the full length of roof x2 and set it with bit of mastic directly under ridges when installed. Keeps moses etc from building up on slates. It works wonders.

Thanks for the tip about the copper. I've got a hip roof, so would you suggest that this be run along each of the ridges, or just primary ridge at the highest point of the house? I would assume each ridge....

I've used a similar tile and used a flat angle ridge, I'm not a fan of ridges with knobbles all over them, not with a nice slate roof.

North West: never heard that tip, my parents place is plagued with moss so i'll be over to them this weekend with a roll of copper wire. Thanks

I agree. I actually had a chat with the slate supplier about this and he said he does keep 3" strips of copper in stock for this purpose. Now my problem is I've got a hip roof, so I don't know how effective copper under each ridge will be. In theory it should cover the roof area but with varying degrees I'd imagine.
Anyone know of anyone who's used the copper strips with a hip roof?
