Just watching Tonight with Vincent Browne on TV3. That guy is the worst presenter ever! He lectures all the guests and doesn't let them get a word in edgeways. It's f*cking hilarious to watch! He's a dithering, contrary old man...

I take your opinion - disagree with it and laugh at how he's not willing to take the bullscite road that RTE go-softly interviewers often take.

Browne might not be everyones cup of tea - but he's his own cup of tea, and more power to him!

His late night radio show in the 90s was second to none.
That show gave me my interest in Irish current affairs

name one conservative idealogue on radio or tv bar marc coleman who is on late at night and has a small audience

I like him because his cantankerous slightly erratic condescending schtick can be entertaining especially when he dismisses politicians/guests as if they have been just summoned to the arena and he is about to have them thrown to the lions because they have mildly irritated him - he does have a good nose for a bullsh1t artist, ill give him that

I dislike him because his socialist views can be very childish at times - I often wonder if he really believes most of the sh1t he spouts himself....part champagne socialist part deluded fantasist - I've come to the conclusion that he himself realizes the ridiculousness of his question sometimes and they are just a device to throw guests off balance....keep the texts/tweets etc coming in

He's better than Kenny or Tubridy IMO.

In fairness, if Tubridy is the benchmark of a presenter, my ringpiece is a good presenter

In fairness he is a cantankerous old man and he can be a bit of a terrier, but he doesn't put up with bullsh1t either so ya have to hand to him like

He was accused of disdain tonight and did'nt like to hear it .

He also ignored the priest for 15 minutes , because he did'nt like the answer he gave .

Vinny is too self-opinionated for a chat-show host

Its not a chatshow though, its the Vincent Browne show, people tune in to see Vincent Browne break balls and stir sh1t.

He's an intolerable leftie, or at least pretends to be for the purpose of courting controversy.

But, aside from anything else, he is unconventional in his delivery, vociferous in his questioning, and is remarkably free of the strained formality and enforced rigidity that characterises and often throttles RTE current affairs programming.

Basically, he's free to say and do as he likes with TV3 as long as the figures stack up, and does it for a modest wage, comparatively speaking. Overall, Irish tv would be a worse place without him, and he's given us some golden moments over the years. Aside from his ill advised yet gloriously entertaining in parts chat show, some of his political maulings are the stuff of legend. Here are some of my favourites.

saw him once at Tara St Station, he walked past me on the platform gawking at me, thought his eyes were going to pop out

One of the best political presenters we have. Compare him to Miriam O' Callaghan as a journalistic presenter then you might understand what it is he contributes.

Vincent is sometimes hard to watch and listen to,but I forgive his cranky idiosynchrasies after tonight's show. I agree he doesn't allow fair time to his
panel to reply to his accusations, but he was 100% right to boil verbally tonight
when he tried to get two questions answered, and was rebuffed.
1.What right does the Catholic Church have to dictate morals to anybody with their history of denial, secrecy and sheer dishonesty, at all costs to the abused,
with their own self and financial preservation their only goal?

2.Who is or should be entitled to make the decision over a woman's life and pregnancy? Surely it is the woman's right following all due advice to make
    her own decision?
At least Tom Stack when he was pinned for a reply backed down and admitted he did not have that right.
    Nice one Vinny!

The part in bold is enough, no need to even list out all of the evils they have perpetrated on the world, though it is nice to be reminded.

No, apparently a fetus in the womb has equal rights in all circumstances to a woman who has lived and experienced this planet as a physical and conscious human being for many years.

Would rather watch Vinny then RTE's head eejits Miriam and Pat Kenny.

VB and Ursula Halligan - I'd say politicians are bricking themselves when they come up against either one of this dream team :p

I hate that about the house dickhead Duncan and his dull as horsefuk voice. He was on TV there two nights ago in a forest talking about trees and I honestly wished one would fall on him.
Not relevant to the thread. Duncan nearly died a few years advocating green awareness on behalf of people like you, leave him alone.

I think he's gas. Very entertaining to watch. He kinda reminds me of Jeremy Paxman a bit in his style.

He's a bit too far to the left wing for my liking.

In terms of worst presenters how can we forgot Ortis Deleys car crash performace during the Athletics world championships. They actually had to fly somebody out to South korea to replace him mid championships he was that bad :pac:
