how stupid it would be to bench Michu.

it's cliché, but he generally needs only 1 or 2 chances to score. and Everton, while impressive, pretty much always concede at least one.

even though it's the toughest fixture of my midfielders, you just can't drop him.

it's Walcott or Puncheon on the bench for me.

Just saw that Tremmel started last night for Swansea having been out of the team for a league and FA Cup game. What is the deal with Swansea and goalkeepers? Do they actually have a first choice?

At the moment I'm looking at replacing Jussi with Federici but Tremmel is cheaper.

Vorm is clearly number 1. He will start every Premier League game when fit.

Okay cool. I'll stay clear so. I just wasn't sure because when Vorm came back initially he got dropped again in the following game.

What's the point in having Puncheon if you're going to bench him this week? Why not just have Guthrie or someone?

To anyone who has a wildcard active and is planning on benching Puncheon this week: Would it not be better to have Marveaux in your squad instead of Puncheon - saving up to 0.5 depending on how long you have Puncheon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I agree with the above, the only way Puncheon is getting into my team is if he's playing the DGW, otherwise I can use the cash better elsewhere.

Still not convinced on Puncheon, if I don't play him it's be Marveaux (who I bought for 4.2m) sitting on my bench and Walcott playing.

The only thing I still need to sort is O'Brien/Demel. I want one in for the DGW but not sure if either will play.

Barring new signings or injuries both will play with Demel being cheaper Ill be going for him.

Anyone looking for a cheap striker, im contemplating Angelo Henriquez from Wigan(on loan from United). Only 4.5m, could end up being real diferential(or he wont play between now and May)

Anyone know how long O Shea is out for? looking at Kilgallon for 4.1

I have Puncheon because i downgraded Sterling. Got him at 4.4. Guthrie is only back into the Reading 1st team. Doubt many have getting him in as a priority. I'll be downgrading Puncheon to Guthrie or any cheaper midfielder that gets minutes when i use my wildcard. Without the wildcard though i probably wouldn't waste a transfer on it unless i had no other transfers to make.

I agree, O'Brien is good but I won't be playing him enough to warrant the extra 0.4m.

Leaning towards holding on to Marveaux now instead of Puncheon. Will he keep his place in the team? Hasn't played much but with Ben Arfa and Cabaye still injured and Tiote off to ACON he might get some gametime.

Because I didn't buy him for the DGW, I bought him to be a perennial bench option so when any of my first XI don't play he'll come in. Sure I could get Guthrie and use the small bit of cash elsewhere, but when I need a sub to come I'd rather someone who has a chance of scoring some decent points.

Sam Allardyce Press Conference: "Andy Carroll, George McCartney, Mo Diame and Joey O'Brien are not fit yet". http://goo.gl/NH2Fe

Lallana and Fonte both ruled out for Southampton http://goo.gl/GN9a4

sell Lambert, buy Ba - yay or nay ?

I have the cash to do it - but terrified Ba wont get the game time. Also have RVP and Suarez but they aint going anywhere.

i think being terrified that he WILL get the game time, and score goals, is enough to make most's decision

If you're going to do it make sure you do it soon Ba will be rising in price again tonight.

Yea I've already lost .1 on him.

Chelsea looked tired last night. Not too confident of much from the DGW at all. I'm pretty much excluding the Stoke fixture in attacking terms. Think that may only bode well for the Chelsea defense as i can see them tightening up. The main thing they'll want is not to lose against Stoke. Torres is gonna get chance after chance. RA won't want a 7 mil striker outshining one he invested 50 mil in. Of course he'll want Ba to do well since it's his team. But i'd say a side to him wants to justify the money spent on Torres.

Right I've 2 FT's and looking for some Chelsea coverage.
    So Defoe > Ba?
    Cazorla > Mata?
    Federici > Turnbull?

Haven't used wildcard yet, so these can be short term changes too. Have Walcott as Arsenal coverage for following GW anyways, and may buy back Caz too.
Only thing is Defoe vs QPR this week

Which 2 to start out of Gibbs H to city, jones A to reading, Cameron H Sunderland, and Kilgallon H to West ham.

I'm thinking jones and Kilgallon but worried gibbs might get an assist and don't like not having stoke coverage. Keeper is Jaask

It would be so sweet if Fellaini went to Chelsea. Would really throw the cat amongst the pigeons for the second half of the season.

Seems like all is not well at Chelsea,I hope it doesn't affect them this DGW & they get their sh1t together. They can fall apart next week so long as I get a decent points haul this one.

    I know it's the Mail,but worth a read anyway.

aguero should be back for next weekend (gw23)

also, it's the mail, but they're reporting that adebayor might not to to ACON now, worth keping an eye on if you planned on getting in defoe

Right so I don't know what to do here, my midfield is:

    Fellaini, Walcott, Mata, Michu, Puncheon.

Now Puncheon has the DGW, but he could only end up on 2 points per game and maybe less depending on yellow cards. But he do well both games - a couple of assists or a goal. So I don't know whether to start him or not, he is a nice sub to have on the bench to come on if there is any injuries or suspensions but that's it, the others are more reliable but I don't want to regret not putting him in for the DGW.

    Thoughts?
