The Leinster 'supporters' who wear scarves & tweed jackets to games for their point of Hoyno. Any other team or club and they have a team jersey or jacket on. Look at Thomond Park and Ravenhill on matchday

Oh wow, what a thread to have to try to keep an eye on just before the last 2 rounds of the HEC, I'd like to think that common sense/cop on would prevail, but unfortunately this hasn't always happened in the past so I better put up a warning.

This is a "generalisation" thread where people can poke fun at themselves, any trolling to try to wind up other sets of supporters will lead to a ban.

TBH I hate the general stereotype that because I'm a rugby supporter, I'm some sort of sporting elitist, thinking that other sports are somehow beneath me and not worth the time of day.

I watch football, hurling, soccer... even darts!

Being the affluent Leinster fan I am I often only wear my Leinster Supporters Club scarf along with my shooting jacket to games because it get's awfully cold in the RDS but mainly because I'm off to Krystle to score some models after.

Don't worry though, I help the commoners out. I throw 50e notes out of my car on the way to the match when I'm driving through the less fortunate areas like Terenure.

I can only assume that Ulster fans wear full battle garb because it's some sort of Protestant tradition.

And Munster fans? Well, there is no accounting for muckers really, is there?

I used to think it was funny - then I noticed people were taking it seriously - very seriously!

I switched pubs....the 1st time it happened in the new place, the owner said really loudly "HE CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!" just as the kick was being taken - he scored - we all laughed - no-one's done it since!

Anyone who doesn't follow Ross O'Carroll Kelly on Twitter is missing a trick. Come game day my whole feed is just RT's of him. Paul Howard is a gas man altogether.

I was down in Thomond for a Leinster v Munster game a few years a go and a guy was wearing this with the elbow patches and a flat cap shooting hat. It was gas, he was doing it as a joke as he and his mates were on the piss.

Middle aged men, dosed up on the hip flask, telling all and sundry of the many great games they've been to since the dawn of history. Yet somehow for all of their vast viewing experience, they seem to be about 10 years behind the latest rule changes.

They don't let this stop them calling for all kinds of deprecated offences. You'd even think they view 5 points for a try as some form of witchcraft.

I can't stand the 'expert' in the stands. They tend to have not one jot of a clue of the laws of the game and make a complete fool of themselves with every subsequent comment they yell out. Obviously clueless on what the word ADVANTAGE entails too.

Also the idiot who arrives late, spends entire game running back and forward to pub or toilets, then leaves early.

Drunk Kiwis doing the umpteenth Haka. Good fun at first but feck me, wears well thin later on . . .

The worst kind of supporter, in my view anyway, is the ultra-tribalist who takes the game far too seriously than they should do. Abuse of officials, players or other spectators not very endearing. I actually saw two buttnuggets have a cut at each other at the Leinster v Munster game in Croke Park in 2009. Might have been funny if there weren't kids about. They were promptly ejected from arena.

You will find the above at any professional game.

I really hate the idea that as a girl, you must be at a match with a man. Eh no.

I once went by myself as my sister (who I go to Leinster matches with) was sick. The looks of "but where is your man who dragged you here" were a little annoying after a while.

Also the idea that if you are a female Leinster supporter, you probably wear Uggs and have a big D4 head on you. Also a no on that front. Oh & I'm also not only there to perv on the players.....that's just a happy bonus

It's not just their wild opinions on the laws, but also sometimes just insane tactical "expertise" that they are explaining to everyone around them (who will listen).

It ruins games for me when I'm sat or stood near one of these experts. I can ignore pretty much anything else.

EDIT: My current greatest bugbear is the Neo-Schmidtites who think any form of kicking of the ball at any time is a mistake that should be punishable by death.

I happen to tick all of those boxes (roysh!) but 90% of the fans you meet all over Europe ((hidden meaning... I can afford to travel cos I'm so arrogant rich)) do not. (eh.... hence it being a stereotype!)

It's them I'm hurting, with my sports jacket and tie of many colours, and hip flask, flamboyant hair, hunter boots at Twickeham etcetera. But then again I don't care, arrogance is a shield yo!

Joking aside, most sports would kill (the violent racist hooligans that they are, I'm looking at you tabletennis!) for the kinds of stereotyping Rugby fans are subject to. All the integrated seating, family groups, friendly if a bit drunk and OTT sometimes 'banter'...

Had this very same guy in one of the stand in the last Leinster match. Kept slagging off Boss for some reason. Mad, since he is on a decent bit of form.
