Hard to see MvG coming back from this.

Taylor turned up the heat and MVG has simply melted, for me he's been showing a really poor level of maturity the last few legs.... missing singles at that level is unforgivable!

Mental strength of Taylor is unreal.

That's probably it. Just some lax third darts and too many 58's and 59's from the green machine. He's played some stunning darts in this match and the tournament in general and his double scoring has been much better tonight. With more big match experience he can only get better and more composed, his decision making has been, understandably, rash tonight.

I've never wanted to see Taylor beaten more than this final but you have to admit that he's throwing some great darts. MVG just hasn't had the mental fortitude to land a killer blow. He's had the chances to open up a 3 set lead which would have been decisive. A comeback now would be pretty miraculous. He'll be there again one day sooner or later but he'll rue this night for months to come.

Taylor is showing why he has won so much, I don't think the contest is over by any stretch yet but I can't see Taylor being beaten

Phil Taylor is a genius. Fall behind and come back, Fall behind and come back again. Now the crowd is completely on his side. Move forward an win it.

The difference is that Taylor knows how to win, MVG is still a novice at that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,744 ✭✭✭dubrov

It seems MVG loses concentration at the start of each leg and is always behind at the money end of each leg.

His finishing has been impressive though so if he can just improve his scoring he might be back in here

So many ropey visits from him alright. Very disappointing.

FFS Taylor all smiling and waving now and yesterday morning pouring his heart out to Sky about been disillusioned and sick, what a load of nonsense! The man is a 15 times World Champion yet is a complete f***ing drama queen! I expected him to win tonight but we can do without the bull***t drama he does for sky!

    Gutted for van Gerwen :(
Lost heart at 4-4. You have to hand it to Taylor though, incredible scoring from there on in.
