Pretty flippant use of the word 'disgrace' by some here.

Losing 2-0 at home to Swansea this year was a disgrace. A 1-1 away to Soton where we barely had a kick is not.
The performance was a disgrace, very few calling the result one

I just hope were still in touch come the end of January

arsenal should really be beating one of the worst teams in the league. southampton are relegation candidates. doesnt matter if theyre playing well at the minute - theyre still a poor side.

after this weekend we could be in 7th. its been a fairly shocking season so far

why is losing to swansea a disgrace? last i looked theyre only a few places below us in the table? southampton were in the bottom 3 coming into the game tonight

The attitude by some players is terrible. Strolling around, no urgency to retrieve possesion.
How id love somebody with the likes of Shane Long's mindset chasing down every lost cause. ffs Boruc was obviously struggling at times to clear and Walcott was just waltzing in towards him instead of pressing hard.

We are so physically inferior than most opposition these days,no pressing at all in the other teams half, just get pushed off the ball so easy.

    Our midfield needs sorting.

Chamberlain needs to wake up. Three mistakes in 10 minutes.

He is playing absolutely woeful lately. Gibbs was roasted tonight and was poor enough on Saturday too. Sagna's legs seem to be completely gone and when i seen Gerv-the-ball-away coming on, for me Wenger may as well have thrown a towel in.

    I agree.

We were ate alive in midfield and a not-fully-fit Wilshere looked the best of our lot.

Cazorla looks very poor these times and Arteta seems to be playing miles away from him. We were ate tonight by a team who will more than likely be playing in the Championship next season. A terrible result considering how our rivals are getting on.

Im sick of saying Wenger needs to buy, absolutely sick of it. It would seem that the board prefers cash in the hand rather than taking any gambles which in football is a ridiculous attitude to take.

Where is Rosicky lately? Why wont he fúckin throw him in? Far better then Ox and Gerv-the-ball-away.

the problem with the likes of chamberlain is we buy these young players and play them in the first team when they clearly arent ready. they make mistakes and have sh!t games and the team as a whole suffers because of it.

send them out on loan and let them make their errors elsewhere. too much too soon

Back to reality again today for us gooners. Same problems still there except this season i cant see us getting out of a hole and grabbing 4th spot.

I like Long. Good player. Skilful and can hold up the ball. When you consider 7m bought a player who has far more agility and nimbleness then 35m Andy Carroll and then look at the donkies we have on the squad i think Long would show a few up at Arsenal.

My one irk with Wenger is that there has never been a work ethic at Arsenal since Vieira, Parlour and the back 4 left the club. All little dinky do mice that dont fancy the action. Despite finding Vieira he seems to have this crazy idea that only the small and nimble can play football. He doesnt want battlers for when times are tough

I see Wenger has said there was a "lack of desire" in the performance. That's appalling if true, at this stage of the season.

Sick of this team. Barring the likes of Wilshere they just dont give their very all. Watch the likes of Man United, Celtic and Stoke this season. Many **** performances form them but they leave it all on the pitch 110% desire and work rate.

The work rate isnt there thats why we wont win anything under Wenger again no mater who comes in January . Couldnt careless if we get 4th or not we never challenge to win the CL anyway.

Not getting top 4 this year might be a good thing. The board gets hit where it hurts (in the pocket). The fans put some pressure on the board to change direction and we might see a gain. Short term pain long term gain.

I don't expect us to win the league but I expect us to give it our best and compete week in week out

I wonder if the Board actually see the rubbish we are playing. You would expect to see action after displays like that but we don't get it. The team performance in the 2nd half against Newcastle was miles removed from the dross we saw today. Today reminded me of the Cup game at Sunderland last year, no heart at all.

Strong words from wenger in the press conference

I wonder if we will get anyone.
We are still only 5 points behind Spurs and they are our biggest threat. They are playing well and created 36 chances today to our 4. We have a big fight on our hands but we can still get 4th. We will have to play much better than today though.

Big big thing for Wenger to say. I think his patience is wearing thin and he is losing his willingness to be protective of his players with every poor performance. Tonight the attitude of the team was 'We hit 7 v Newcastle in a testing game so we need not apply ourselves too much here at little lowly Southampton'. They seem to believe their own hype and it effects the next game and when we lose it hits our confidence big time.

AW continues to peddle this bullsh*t that he only buys the right type of player and yet we are expected to believe that Gervinho, Santos and Park were the 'right men'. He must think we are idiots.

I thought Zaha would be the type of player Wenger would go for considering he has bought Ramsey, Jenks, Walcott and Ox who all have a similar profile which is to be young and play for a championship/league 1 team and highly rated.

Ill keep an open mind to Zaha for the time being but Wenger must buy. Whoever amongst Arsenal thinks the squad is strong enough is a total spoofer who has no interest in the game. I would doubt Arsene Wenger is of this opinion.

I think Wilshere is almost Sacrificing his own game to do what others should be doing which is tackle, harass and harry. You can work hard and be a stylish team, just look at Barca who have a 6 second philosophy when it comes to regaining the ball.

In all fairness he has had no service, our midfield is pathetic

Exactly and he shouldnt have been thrown on the wing tonight either. See the free he took? he couldnt cross his legs let alone the ball. We know his strengths Wenger so stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole for once

I don't think they do, the no.1 priority of the club is not success on the field. The goal seems to be CL qualification for monies worth not to compete and win. The PL target is 4th spot anything better is great. Everything else in between is irrelevant once the end goal is met and the finances are being covered.

I genuinely don't expect them to match the spending of City or Chelski but I expect id to invest what we can to give us a chance.

The performance today will go unnoticed at board level as they'll believe Wenger will deliver 4th come May

I'm more worried by Wenger saying we are still looking, or words to that effect. Surely we should have our targets sorted by now. Hoping that's just guff from him.

    Walcott 14 (8)
    Podolski 9 (6)
    Giroud 9 (6)
    Cazorla 7 (7)
    Gervinho (5) (3)
    Arteta 4 (4)
    Mr. Owen Goal 3 (3)
    Oxlade-Chamberlain 2 (1)
    Chamakh 2 (0)
    Koscielny 2 (1)
    Arshavin 1 (0)
    Mertesacker 1 (1)
    Miquel 1 (0)
    Ramsey 1 (0)
    Rosicky 1 (0)
    Vermaelen 1 (0)

Was it not Walcott's goal? Thought it was on target.

They didn't give it to him. Shocking when you see that Dempsey's "goal" was given to him. The criteria for own goals should have some common sense applied.
