Diaby as much as well all know is never goign to cut it pysically aint going nowhere Wenger seems to have a hard on for him, cant see Gervinho going anywherre either for the forseeable future while hes still getting game time hell be here. As for the rest of them fingers crossed.

Thats why he's at the bottom. He'd be the last person to go. If we got rid of everyone else on the list, he would be the next person in line at the club but he's safe for now at least.

Cant see Gervinho going either, but we can hope :D

In this order, I'd look to get rid of:

    Denilson
    Park
    Squillaci
    Bendtner
    Chamakh
    Santos
    Gervinho
    Arshavin
    Fabianski
    Djourou
    Diaby

Not much difference between the first few, getting rid of any of them would be good. It's really only from Gervinho onwards that the order means anything.

Problem is, we'd be lucky to get £25m for the lot unless Liverpool fancy any of them. Good news would be the amount of wage it would free up.

Im convinced that Liverpool are being ran by Fianna Fail with all the overpaying for players.

Such a pity Diaby never fulfilled his potential and was injury plagued. A real shame. The highs were highs and the lows were low and i suppose you could say the same for Djourou. It would be some sickener if both of these players went on to be injury free successes at other clubs.

Ba would have been a decent signing but it's major upgrades we need and by most accounts he's not all that cheap when you include what are meant to be his pretty insane agent fees.

Even at the supossed 12 million after agent fees Id still consider him a bargain, top player whos a proven EPL goalscorer he certainly going to make Chelsea more of a threat. But hes gone to Chelsea now so hopefully Wneger has his targets sorted out along with one way or another sorting out the Walcott fiasco.

Ba is off to Chelsea. They bid today and the contract talks are already finished. Once they showed up we had no chance. Baines would cost easily £15m, add in the fact that it is January so Everton wont want to sell an ever present this season and it in excess of £20m just to get Everton's attention, not even a bid accepted, just their attention.

Who's the rest of these "dozens" of players? I cant see many worth the effort.

Like I said recently, a new contract for Walcott would be better than anyone we could sign right now.

Baines is worth 20m, even bargain bucket signings are we a big club or not. Hes the best LB in league, along with Enrique IMO who we should have signed before Liverpool.

Not only would he strengthen us he would massively weaken Everton.

Ba is the closest thing we'll get to a top striker though. We sold arguably the best striker in the world so the only way is down. Unless we sign world class players like Cavani, Falcao Aguero or Lavezzi etc, then Ba is the best we can hope for.

Nearly all the big players who left in the last few seasons have won trophies at their new clubs, Clichy, Nasri, Toure, Fabregas, Cole and probably RVP this year. They are leaving because we have shown little or no ambition except to make money and if they also receive better pay at those clubs who can blame them.

If our club had ambition they would have known their targets and been in for them this morning. Wenger's "we will continue to look" is basically a load of crap. How many weeks will this drag out?

Not so. Liverpool now enter the race for 4th along with us, Spurs and Everton. Chelsea will probably finish 3rd.

Liverpool are way too inconsistent to mount a challenge for fourth. Everton I think are this seasons Newcastle. It's between us and spurs.

Johan out 2m it looks like

I don't think Sturridge is a stand-out player as such but he is a decent striker and there's the worry that he might link up well with Suarez because if someone does then Liverpool could easily go on an amazing run. Then again they've won 5 of their last 7. As for the "consistency" thing, leave out the first 5 of the season and they're equal with us. They had a poor start and have improved the whole way whereas we've had a couple of good 5-match spells.

Good deal for whoever's getting him for that.

Just on twitter there and squallici just gave an interview somewhere confirming he is leaving the club, hopefully in jan but def in June
A great bit of trimming going on so far :)

Edit : just realised he have to go in June anyway that's after taking the wind out Of my sails a bit

    Sounds like I'll be going 2 for 2 :D

I think Denilson and Park are definitely leaving, while I'd be very surprised if Bendtner and Arshavin are still here next season, Chamakh to a lesser extent. Not too confidant about the rest but then I didnt think Djourou would seemingly be the first out the door either.

Djourou going permanently or on loan?

I heard on loan to Hannover with a view to buy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,783 ✭✭✭emergingstar

If them 2 are gone there is a spot available

Step forward mbiwa, can play CB, RB, and more importantly DM. Would be good cover for all those positions. And I really rate him

    If only

    ^^^^^^^

Is it not you who thought Joel Campbell was ready for the first team & would be a massive player this season :pac:

that has nothing to with Mbiwa comment though

    Denilson - agreed

Park - imo never given a decent run of it and might have something to offer

    Squillaci - agreed

Bendtner - agreed but who will make a good offer that he will accept?

Chamakh - was a good player before he came to us and is someone who I feel with a bit of confidence could go on to be a very good signing for another club

Santos - rotten, must be one of Wengers biggest mistakes

Gervinho - dont mean to keep going on about him but I kind of feel sorry for him now, just not up to it and maybe a move back to France would be a good direction for his career (cause I cant see anyone in England taking him)

Arshavin - looks to have very little interest in playing and you get the feeling he is more than happy to sit on the bench and collect a wage, moving to another club means he will have to play and that might not suit him

Fabianski - Could be a good signing at small price for alot of clubs
    Djourou - same as above

Diaby - surprised he didnt break his hand signing the contract, with such an injury record nobody would take him unless it was pay as you play. Cant see Wenger ever selling him though

Still think he would be better option than Walcott up front at the moment

Poor old Jay could have had it all

Poor old Jay could have had it all

    what do you mean?

He's just another youth player that was made out to be better than he actually is

every player in the Arsenal youth team is supposed to be the dogs bollocks - when in fact very few of them turn out that way
