So who do people think we will get this January and who will we get rid of?
I think we will land Zaha and lose Arshavin and hopefully Chamakh and Santos.

also Barcelona have rejected an approach from Liverpool to loan David Villa.

If we got one of them i would be happy enough, but if we managed all three then i have no doubt that we are going to run away the league this year, tearing all in front of us apart. While they tear our defence apart.

The last 5 years have taught us, just ignore it all until its confirmed by the club. I genuinely dont bother with any gossip untils in confirmed or there is some form of statement confirming its being done

Cant see Santos going anywhere in January. Maybe in the summer but not midseason. If Gibbs gets injured we have no left back, as apposed to now where we have someone who claims to be a left back :pac:

I'm hearing we are after Luke Shaw, and the only way we will buy him is if Santos leaves. But of course the big stumbling block with Santos is his wages which are just too damn high.

The Turan story has been about now for a few weeks at least, his agent has said he's looking for a new challenge and will leave, but at the end of the season, no mention of in January.
I wouldn't be surprised if this one happens, maybe not now but in the summer.

Read about the Villa loan to L'pool too, and that Barca won't loan him, they want €16mil for him - can't see Arsenal spending that on a 31 year old

i'd be so happy if Villa came to us, but it's extremely unlikely. He's currently on 170k euro a week or thereabouts (according to my Barca fanatic friend). We made Arteta take a wage cut! it's very unlikely we'd get Villa to

I'd be confident that if we snagged Adrian Lopez he'd work out to be a fine signing for us, giving us 3 different options up front. Rumors are Chamakh to West Ham.

Thats about £140k, not a huge amount over what Walcott is seemingly looking for. Add in his age and he'd probably take a bit of a cut.

Our wage budget needs to be fixed fairly soon. There is no reason we shouldnt be able to pay up to £150k p/w. Do away with the old big money for potential deals and offer what they are worth from now. In a couple of years (once the old deals are all expired) it would be no problem for us to handle. A few years of not making huge profits would be a small price to pay in the long run.

Not really he was a short term replacement and cover for Lucas, Gerard and Allen in case of injury he's a top player and will do well given the chance something he didn't get at Liverpool,

Paying a 5million loan fee and giving him 100 grand a week don't look like a short term replacement

But yeah I agree he could be good that's why I said maybe bullet dodged think he would have been handy for us when diaby for injured and for cover for arteta to give him a break
