Vehicles going THROUGH roundabouts

    After seeing my local roundabout traversed by some class of vehicle in the last 24 hours I have to wonder, who are these people who are going so fast approaching a roundabout that they are unable to stop and just clear the whole thing?
    Several trees flattened and the road signs on the road on the far side of the roundabout crushed.
    Fog and a road you are not familiar with?
    Drunk/Drug drivers?
    Joy riders?

    Seems crazy that it happens so often, I half expect to see a car with the wheels sheared off on the far side of the road when I see this!

    Irish people and roundabouts don't mix, but then again roundabouts are confusing for most people not interested in road workings.

    Roundabout i use most is on the headford road in Galway and it has 5 exits and as far as im concerned its a case of 1st 2 exits left lane right lane for the other 2

    Roundabouts here can be a bit of a joke. Particularly the ones they paint on to avoid putting a set of lights. There's one close to where I live at the intersection of 2 residential roads, but you can't see what's to the left or right of you until you are on the roundabout because of the garden walls. Complete joke.

    Nope, shannon, The ballycasey one. Was just done up last month with new trees, brick path bits, other parts with bark etc. It is substantial and not a drop of paint in the middle of a junction :)

    I've seen a few roundabouts like this recently. I put it down to poor road conditions burning even then that shouldn't effect people too much.
