    They should but they won't.

Heck, even when United weren't doing well in the league a little over half a dozen years ago, they were usually first on the box (MOTD, RTE or whatever). Gotta cater for their main audience which is United fans.

Fair play to MOTD - Arsenal Newcastle is first on tonight

The Arsenal match only finished 15 minutes before the program starts - are you all being a little unfair on RTE, this time? editing and all the rest etc.

+ the never seem to show the 5:30 KO until late in the program, whenever i've watched it

Never said it should be the Arsenal game. Just that it's always United.

Just over on the united thread and one chap saying he's heard that Walcott to Utd is sewn up - now while I don't believe this i can state for the record if we lost another star player to utd in consecutive seasons I'd be totally gutted.

Fair point - I hadn't thought of that - how much time did they devote to the game ?

I hadnt been keeping up with the result and only checked it a little while ago. Should have known something was up when I didnt get any messages or calls from my Newcastle supporting girlfriend. I think she is ignoring me now :pac:

    It would be awful...

...On the flip side, you've got Ramsey, The Ox, Gibbs, Jenks and of course Jack dedicating themselves to The Gunners. The Arsenal v United games might be more of a fight than we've seen in recent years.

I think in the hysteria of another great win we need to stop and remember Jack Wilshere. Chap took a ball to the head and could be in intensive care as we speak. Jack this forum's thoughts are with you as you recover from this life threatening injury.

    Piers Morgan ‏@piersmorgan
Just spoke to young Mr Walcott (still clutching the matchball) - and I'd say he's staying. #Arsenal

Can't blame Theo if he leaves now. Nobody should have to talk to Piers Morgan.

God knows how many headers went in out there. Giroud 'took a bullet' with his first goal and made an amazing miraculous recovery to get a second. I hope he is getting treatment after his trauma.

    A battlefield out there :)

Still don't think we're loosing a star player in Walcott

I posted here a couple of weeks ago saying the only televised games I'd missed recently was the 5-3 at the bridge and the 5-2 at Reading. Well, thanks to work, chuck in that game today. Maybe I should take a proverbial ball to the head for my fellow Arsenal fans and just stop watching our games.

Lifted this from arsebloggers comment section. Makes sense to me.
First of all, let me start by saying i love the arsenal no matter who stays or leaves.
Ok right, now. Theo delivers! Say what you want but he has 13 goals halfway through the season. If that doesnt impress you, i dont know what will. Good players need high wages, its the way of the footballing world. If we dont, some other club will pay him what he wants and i wont blame him for leaving. I wont call him greedy. Dont look at it as him trying to strong arm the club into breaking the wage cap, look at it as the player who finally gets arsenal to review their wage system and hopefully stand a chance to attract big name players who are probably turned off by our 70k a week “starter kit”
finally, i would like to point out, as inconsistent as he has been, he is still on 13 goals. I shudder to think how many he will be banging in for another team when he really comes good. Coz we all know its going to happen, he cant get worse.

What does he need to do to make you change your mind ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

Pod's on 100k a week. Don't get me wrong, I love Podolski. But if he's worth 100k a week so is Theo. We can afford 5m a year wages for him. To replace him would cost as much to keep him. I've said f*ck him in the very recent past, but can we afford to lose a guy for free who's playing like he's playing at the moment, and currently living up to his potential?

When (if) he signs his new deal with us it'll give us that nice boost too :D

Oh, just checked there. 4 Goals 4 assists in 3 games he's played upfront. Not a bad return at all!

Hard to argue when he is scoring goals but I don't like the look of him up top yet don't think him been up there own his own will work.

But scoring goals will keep me shut and so far as I said hard to argue

where are you getting them numbers :pac::pac::pac:

he's got 9 goals in total

6 in the PL & going by fantasy premier league, who give assist for looking at the ball he's only got 1

going by wiki he's got 6 assists in total

One of my mates still calls him Girpoo and maintains he's a flop.

In fairness he follows a side who spent 35m on Andy Carroll.

    He knows something about flops.

From twitter more joking than accurate, highlighting he is no flop
