    That was Joe Duffy show

Funniest slot in a long time :D

He was lucky he wasn't punched.

Going around to doorways and waking people up and questioning them

And then wondering when they told him where to go!

yah you're right. still the guy made an effort, and it was during the cold snap. he probably didnt want another guy to die like in bray. he made an effort and it was rebuffed.

moral of the story, distribute food through the proper charities.

I'm sitting at home and posting from my mobile. My IP address will be the same in ten minutes time when I go downtown for smokes.

    Eggnog on your face there!

I heard most of those homeless guys have smart phones, dont mention where your getting off the bus you could be overrun.

Should have asked for 200 fags on your Christmas list, my kid says that Santa will be over Galway around 12:15, save yourself the walk. Maybe you could text him?

    Well done to the op!

I tried to volunteer with Simon this year but they never got back to me. I did manage to hand in a bunch of old clothes for the homeless of Dublin this year.

Like a lot of people, I'm sitting in a warm house having a drink after wrapping the presents and it's safe to say I'm more than a little shamed by your generosity and largess.

    Fair play and happy Christmas.

If you look close you will see the ticket in his hand, he paid for 2 seats, not withstanding to the right.

Good on you op, nice thing to do. Simple effort to make sure food doesn't go to waste. Well done.

Very very fair play to you OP, nice to see some people actually think and act like that on xmas if they can :)
I say it every year to do something like that, but it never happens due to either forgetting all about it, not knowing where to start or just the general busyness of xmas time, ive been inspired to do that though, whenever I get the chance really :)

probably because they get hundreds of people that want to volunteer at Christmas and they dont have to time to reply to the people they dont need. alot of people just do it for 'selfish' reasons and dont think of doing it at any other time in the year.

Yeah, cos giving up your free time at Christmas is so selfish.
Second guessing people's motives when it comes to charity is really tacky. Giving up your own time to help others is a positive thing. A lot of people never do it.

In fairness, I didnt make the sambos myself. I got them because they'd only go off sitting in the cafe over xmas.

There are other people who actually do charity year round, not just when it suits them.

    Off to bed now.

    Merry Christmas one and all.
