I have 2 sky boxes working from my quad LNB. I just added a third box which is a Silvercrest DVB-S SL 65/12 which came with one of those lidl camping satellite kits, problem is it's getting no signal at all.

I tested the newly installed cable with one of the other sky boxes and it works perfectly, so no problem there. Could it be that the Silvercrest box is set up to work with the camping dish LNB and it's settings need to be changed to work with my Sky LNB? Any suggestions?

LNB Settings on the Silvercrest are......

    LNB Type: Universal
    1st Frequency 9750 MHz
    2nd Frequency 10600 MHz

    22K: On
    DiSEqC: DiSEqC1.0
    DiSEqC Switch: 2/4
    Positioner: None
    Polarity: H/V

Have you tried selecting one of the other positions on the disecq switch settings ? eg. 1/4 3/4 or 4/4.

I tried a few different combos. I think it might be a problem with the box, hasn't been used in years.

To check if the box is the problem, swap it for one of the Sky boxes.

Yea, the sky boxes work fine on the newly installed cable. The silvercrest box itself is the problem alright I think. I needed an excuse to buy a saorview combo-box anyway :)

Do you have the lnb cable connected to the SL65 lnb-in connection? It also has a similar type connector labeled "IF out".

you can turn off the DiSEqC too

factor reset and do a rescan - this should pick up channels even if the frequencies are a bit out

try a different 12V psu if you have it - make sure it has enough amps

if all else fails chances are the capacitors on the main board are burst www.badcaps.net - you can pop the cover to look

second hand FTA boxes are cheap if you wait for one at a fair price
