After watching Michael Mcintyre on Johnathan Ross last night,I can safely say he is the worst comedian I have ever heard, not one funny moment, then cooking with Jamie oliver trying to grab all the attention by putting a towel on his head thinking he was hilarious.twat.

    i can't understand the adulation about him:confused:

to me he's just a one trick pony........he basically just shakes his head with his exaggerated fringe and makes silly noises

I've tried to watch Louis CK three times now and every time I get 10 minutes into it without laughing and have to turn it off. He seems to be exactly the type of person I should find hilarious but he just ain't making me laugh.

Mickey Flanagan is the most recent to come onto my radar. Yet to make me laugh or even just not annoy me with something he's said. Doesn't help that he has the worlds most punchable face.

Can't find it on youtube but his bit about doing **** all is brilliant :P

Also Jack Whitehall, didn't like him at first (must be 4-5 years since he started popping up) but he's improved massively in that time.

Was going to say Catherine Lynch but that would mean classifying her as a comedian, which would be unfair. That leaves me with just

Sean Lock (laughs at his own jokes - someone has to) and

Lee Evans (reminding people of Norman Wisdon is great - except NW wasnt funny either)

You'll find that your statement is in fact wrong...

ALL irish comedians are just awful.
Seriously, for a country with a good sense of humour, they are the biggest bunch of *rseholes ever. Especially that Ed Byrne. He actually makes me cringe. Just watched Dara O Briains new DVD, it's crap. Basically he spends 90 minutes slagging people less intelligent than him "Oh I know science and do a weird fast high pitched whine when I talk to people in the crowd" Shut it Dara, we all remember you on echo island.

Also most women comedians are also pants, except Joan Rivers,I like her sheer does not give a fcukness.

At the minute I like Mickey Flanagan, have front row tickets to see him in April. Hope he picks on us because I am hilarious and also plan on wearing a "I love Mickey" tshirt.

You sound hilarious........have you ever thought of becoming a comedian...

On the subject of female comedians, there are a handful I like, Maria Bamford for her voices and really off the wall stuff, Nina Conti cos lets face it, monkey puppets are funny and Joan Rivers has had some savage one liners. Women can be funny, there are just a lot of female comedians who rely on the "men are crap, I have periods, babies" shtick. Prefer the ones who don't go fult tilt into the same old material.
other funny women: Tina Fey, who can write razor sharp dialogue and surprisingly Jennifer Aniston, who had by far the best comic timing of any of the Friends actresses.

Not too sure if he has been mentioned here already, but Russel Howard is seriously not funny, does my head in.

McSavage sucks as a standup, yet the Savage Eye is the best thing RTE have made in YEARS comedy wise, so I'm conflicted about the guy.
I can't think of anything RTE have made comedy-wise in years.

I was going to post this same opinion a while ago. I think it's well worth saying. Terrible stand-up, but he is very well suited to television and dare I say there is good production value on his show. I'm actually a very late comer to The Savage Eye. I've watched it in the last few months and think it's excellent overall.
I think he's had a bad time with Boards though?

I honestly think (and this opinion isn't just formed because i don't like the guy), that he is unoriginal and untalented. He is doing things on the savage eye, that has been done to death.
All he is doing is pointing out the very very very obvious stereotypes of people around the Country.
Has that not been done to death? In the UK, Ireland, America, Australia etc..
Also his scripts are terrible, when he lacks a joke, he throws something in about being durrrttty, or wanting to touch children, or some other "Shock Value" subject.. - General pub shenanigans.

(In one of his characters voices)
"They should change the name of his show, the "sh1t eye" aarr harr harr."

    Isn't that the point?

:o I should start paying attention to RTE more.
Podge & Rodge - Funny one season.
    Katherine Lynch - Haven't watched.
Mrs Browns Boys? - BBC i thought?
Republic of Telly - Started as Harry Hills TV burp, developed to more sh!t.
    The Panel?
Hardy Bucks - Heard Good things, haven't watched.
    Killinaskully - Haven't seen.
Naked Camera - A few Giggles.

One or two good shows there, so Savage eye isn't even the best thing in a year..

I don't know, but it is mine. - i.e. he has no talent, and is just rehashing old jokes. I could pay my Nephew less to do the same, and a better job.

Naked Camera can't possibly considered funny because of Jason Byrne's involvement :pac: he's like that gobsh1te at school who thought he was hilarious and won't shut up. same with Hector, who The Savage Eye takes the piss out of brilliantly.

Wow...over 300 posts and no mention of French and Saunders?!

Here's one however that did bomb live. Although he's far from a comedian
Christ, that second fella was so cringworthy it was funny in a way.It was like one of David Brents attempts at corporate comedy.

The fact she was in South Park back in season 3 shows she's got a sense of humour anyway. :pac:

Uh oh.. Is Naked Camera the one with yer man that whistles all the time? Or is it the one with the make-up?

I thought the latter was cr@p, just an excuse for people that have been in a newspaper/magazine to wear makeup and talk to their friends.

Podge & Rodge - Good, but outstayed its welcome

Katherine Lynch - useless annoying bint

Mrs Browns Boys - panto dame for grown ups

Republic of Telly - didn't watch

The Panel - Hit and miss, depended what guests they had on

    Hardy Bucks - didn't watch

Killinaskully - poorly written show, Shortt is a funny guy but this isn't comedy gold by a long shot

Naked Camera - a poor relation to Mike Murphy's candid camera show

Yeah there's a lot of comedians I don't like who have already been named on here but honestly, does ANYONE find Jack Whitehall funny? How is he on tv? He's terrible.

    Nepotism.

John Bishop. How he is so popular is beyond me. Most of his jokes, you know the punch line a minute before he gets to it.
Please take him and his horrific accent off my tv.
Jason Byrne - not even remotely funny.

    .

Think you just proved my point, I wasnt saying those shows are good, just that the savage eye is the best thing rte have done with comedy in ages

My favourite comic writing duo have to be Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie.

A Bit Of Fry And Laurie is my favourite BBC comedy ever! The material and delivery and Hugh's musical parody's are brilliant.

Everyone on 'Two Broke Girls'. This is comedy
Ever noticed how a really great and original comedy will go under due to poor ratings in America and get cancelled before long while hackneyed, unfunny dirge like 2 broke girls will fester away for years with massive ratings?
Don't it just make ya sick.
