    I don't trust people who don't like tea :P

I like tea but rarely bother to make a cup. I never took to coffee at all.

I think Batman Begins is the best comic book movie of all time.

I like tea too, but I'm not one of those religious tea drinkers who has lots every day. I kinda see it as a comfort thing. If I come in out of the cold, a cup of tea is always nice, or if I'm just chilling out in front of the fire, I'll have one. A cup of tea is good after a night of drinking too, I find. I wouldn't drink it every other day though.

People getting "offended" over something that doesn't directly concern them eg "Oh I find your use of that word offensive."

    SHUT UP YOU WHINE BAG!

    Stephen Fry puts it best...

I think the height restriction should be be brought back into the Gardaí when they start recruiting again.

Some of the smaller men and women are just not suitable.

i think a horizontal mass restriction would be better.

    In all society.

I believe a person's obesity is a better indicator of Intelligence then culturally-biased IQ tests.
What an individual decides to shove inside their face and then not put the effort in to reduce the effects, reflects on that the individual.

You're not alone - The Dark Shlte Rises was indeed truly dung.

I like Paul Thomas Anderson films but 'The Master' was just pretentious sh1te.

An unpopular opinion of my own: The word "pretentious" is overused and says faff all really, especially in regards to movies. It can be said about anything that isn't watered down sh1te. ;)

    It's also ironic how people often use it speaking in a position of authority and superiority, which is in itself kinda p r e t e n t i o u s

Explain why you found it pretentious.

Otherwise I'll be forced to assume that you simply didn't understand the film, couldn't find a way to articulate this without sounding unintellectual, decided to cop-out by using the most embarrassingly misused word in the film reviewer's vocabulary, and may have accidentally sounded like an adolescent pseudo-intellectual in the process.

Sorry I didn't have time to post a thesis on it but having sat through the whole thing I stick by 'pretentious'. It sums up my feelings perfectly ;)

    Ireland isnt all that bad.

Like alot I have tried the immigration thing and missed the Irish culture. Any chance I could I surrounded myself with Irish in Oz. The culture and people are truly one of a kind and now that I have a steady with advancement on the horizon I wouldnt dream of leaving the country for any sustained period of time.

    I love it here

I'd say give it another go, I'm a Paul Thomas Anderson fan too but I didn't really love either Punch Drunk Love or There Will Be Blood until my second viewing. I feel that I'll love The Master even more too when I see it again (thankfully it's still playing in The Lighthouse).

Well let me put it to you this way. At the start of the film there was 10 people in the movie theatre. At the end there were 4 people. But I'm sure all of those who left just 'didn't understand' the movie either. Give me a shout the next time you're going to the movies. You can sit beside me and explain the whole thing to me. I'm obviously too stupid to have my own opinion.

Liked Punch Drunk Love. Loved There Will Be Blood. Didn't like The Master. Just my opinion.

I hated the master too. I think it's a bit of a split opinion. Trying to infest and it, I nearly had more fun studying for many an exam.

Jeez, he's not saying you're not entitled to an opinion. He just asked you to elaborate on why it's "pretentious". It's not a personal attack.

If anything it's a pretty modest film, it doesn't force anything on the viewer or try to make some grand statement. I find that refreshing.

Read the sentence again. At the very least the guy was being a condescending dick.

I hold athletics in higher regard than boxing, yes, I'll make no apologies. That's nothing to do with respect or lack of. In a similar manner I'd regard a medal won in boxing above one in dressage, modern pentathlon or sailing.

I prefer the concept of a first past the line, clear winner as opposed to the subjective nature of boxing judges, and stories like the following

 Missing the point of an "unpopular opinions" thread.

Anyway people are only getting offended because we have a gold medal winner. Seems that puts certain sports above criticism

    Jimo is correct.

Rory McIlroy should win the Sportsperson of the year rather than Katie Taylor.
