Right I've being to 3 yep 4 Civil Partnerships, 1 was for a same sex couple, but yet I look at the RTE news, tonight you would think that every civil partnership I have attended was, for same sex couples, but what I have just pointed out, out of 4 of them 3 were opposite sex marriages, , eg Male and Female (hetrosexual)

What is the story with that misrepresentation ?

PS I'm delighted for all of the couples that want to spend their lifes together.

Anal sex is it really just for gay men?

No point in going to one of these civil ceremonies. You won't get drunk and ride the brides sister. You'll just end up coughing up an expensive gift and going home only half cut.

Civil Partnerships are only for same sex couples. Maybe you attended Civil Marriages.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

It's definitely full of the gays so, and they're using the broadcasting behemoth to push the gay agenda and make children into gays or something. Just switch on RTÉ 1 at any time and you'll see it in Nationwide, Oireachtais Report, Fair City et al.

    You can't argue with that!!

Sure that could be an activity for all the family on christmas day....while waiting for the turkey to cook, everyone could gather round and make a gay.

Both, presumably. Certainly anyone who had to sit through the rose of tralee as a child may develop an adverse reaction to women that could haunt them forever.

Really and what is the difference?

Someone stated that civil parnership is different to civil marraige, I would like to know what the difference is, seen as I started a tread of everything being equal, I really would like to know the difference between one or the other, I can't see it. Please explain the difference of how I witnessed a loving partnership between two gay friends(both boyfriends) and my nephew and his then girlfriend, also my cousin and his then girlfriend. Each are as equally right to be married as each other, So over to you guys now

You're confusing civil partnerships with a civil marriage. Civil partnerships are same sex only.

There are many legal differences between a Civil Partnership and a Civil Marriage.

    It's an ecumenical matter.

I'm on my phone but you will find a brief outline of the differences there.

While the wedding experience may seem the same, the actual marraige is far from it. Civil partnership is not equal to marraige unfortunately.

That link being underlined makes the end of the URL look un-PC at first glance.

There are a few slight differences, mostly in the area of parenting. A same sex couple in a civil partnership can't adopt a child together, only one of the partners can. This can lead to difficulties, especially if they break up. A couple that are married can adopt the child together. There are also grey areas about how the constitution recognises the structure of the family, and it's at odds with European directives in some respects insofar as it considers a family unit to primarily be composed of opposite sex parents. If you read the ICCL/GLEN Know Your Rights handbook that was published today you'll see more comparisons.

If you meant is there a reason why they should be treated differently, then no, of course there isn't.
