Don't know whether to post this in Motors or here, so I'll start here.

Anyone know of where I'd get a decent quality (but not outrageously priced) tool kit for general use? After spending my lunch hour trying to sort out the mother-in-law's wipers with my cheapo set (and making plop of my knuckles in the process!), I figured it's time to splash out.

It'll be used for general car maintenance and for bit and pieces around the house.

Try Lenwoods cash & carry near Audi in Finglas, it's trade only but if you can get in you won't get stuff cheaper.

Pound-for-pound you won't get better tool kit than the Halfords Pro Kit.

I got mine for €125, reduced from €250 in the summer.

Although I see it's gone up to €299 there. (But maybe that's just around Christmas).

Watch out for it dropping 50%, it does often.

-edit- just see its not the same, one is 150, other 170 piece... Still with the €150 price difference I think you can pick up the missing 20bits;-)
Also since Col200sx said the original price was €250 I think I actually linked the one he has?!

For an all round tool set you can't go too far wrong with this one.

Lidl have a nice enough tool kit for 32 euro tomorrow.:)

I have one of these and its a good robust bit of kit.
