Do people think the same team from Monday will line up against Wigan? It would be great to see if it works again.

I see no reason why he would change it. All 11 deserve to start again.
    Fingers crossed.

So Wilshere, Jenkinson, Gibbs, The Ox and Ramsey have all agreed to new long term contracts. All between 4-5 Years. Brilliant news it has to be said.

That's a great picture in fairness. Shame there's not one more in the bunch...

    Notable absentee there :p

Still, excellent news (even if apparently Ramsey is the second worst player ever [ahead of Gervinho] and Chamberlain is already a write off who is never going to make it:pac:)

Well it puts pressure on him. Shows once again if you want to sign a contract with a club it can be done with little fuss.

At least he's learning his lesson.

I wonder with this core of 5 (hopefully soon to be 6) British players will Wenger be of the mindset of trying to bu more British players in the hope that the stay more loyal to the club?

Chelsea are probably a very good example of how to do a side combining core English players (Cole, Terry, Lampard) with relatively loyal foreign players (Cech, Mikel, Drogba, Ivanovic) and a dash of world class (Ballack, Mata).

What we can learn from that is that it is vital to keep the core English players together (something we royally ****ed up on with Ashley Cole) but to also keep the experienced foreign players (Sagna, Cazorla, Koscielny are key in my mind). We do need to add that dash of world class though, and thats where the financial shackles have to come off.

Edit: Just to say too; you can probably add Sczcsney to that list as well. And fwiw I think Walcott is well gone at this stage; there's no long and drawn out process about the contract thing like he goes on about; the 5 lads above plus TV and Koscielny have shown that where there's a will it can be done with the minimum of fuss.

The thing with Chelsea is they were winning things - I'm not sure nationality has anything to do with it. A player is more likely to stick with a club if the grass isn't greener elsewhere.

Lot of talk on twitter about him a few days ago, dunno what to make of it but I do remember him being pretty solid in the ACN final against some big premier league names on the Ivory Coast team.

Someone already came up with a possible nickname of 'Stopzilla' and he'd be worth a punt for that alone :D

Jaysus leave it out. Didn't I see Rooney doing that on the Saturday before he left Everton and signed for United. The very next Saturday he was kissing his wallet.

The difference being Jack just kissed the badge after committing to the club until 2017. He's no Rooney, he'll be a one club man.

Theres no harm having faith in a player who does seem through and through Arsenal everything he says and does is Arsenal, I think he could be our Steven Gerrard only better ;).

Sometimes its nice to believe a-player can be loyal, let us believe in Wilshere :).

    Huntelaar staying where he is

    Hopefully we move for villa

Supposedly an announcement been made at 3 today, I guess it's about the new contract extensions

Villa is 31 years old now. We usually ship them out of Arsenal at that age.
Huntelaar is 29 now and looking for a 3 year contract and 100k a week.
Can't see either happening to be honest.

They will be the core of the team until they get frustrated at never winning anything. All this whilst they could be getting twice the amount of money at an other club that are competing for trophies, just like the last "core" of players.

The lack of Theo in the boy band suggests to me that he's a gonner...

Great to see them all sign on. Jenkinson looks a bit like Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Thats about all I have to contribute to this discussion :D

Yes i'd say they held off as long as possible with that picture in the hope of him signing. They will probably sign Zaha from Palace now.
