Just watched the highlights there. Sanchez really does completely suck. I don't like slating players harshly like that, they've all obviously got some talent, but Sanchez is just bloody awful. The best thing he did all year was plough into his teamate's arse. With any sort of competent QB they'd probably be in the playoffs or still right in the hunt anyway. Tebow doesn't exactly look like a legitimate alternative either. I sort of feel for Ryan and the coaches as it's not their fault they got stuck with two dud QBs on high salaries. However he should've made the call to give McElroy a start, can't really have gone much worse.

With any regular QB there's no way they would. Their talent at skill positions on offense is so poor that most ranked colleges have better overall offenses than the Jets.

Tebow is perhaps the only legitimate alternative in the entire league for the Jets this year, his run-option game being able to paper over alot of cracks, as we saw very clearly last year.

Rex probably needs to be fired for sticking with Sanchez alone before we get to every other problem with the Jets' locker room. I loved it when he was being brash and actually beating (and eliminating) the likes of the Patriots but this year's Jets have to be the most broken team to come along since the 0-16 Lions.

I'm not saying they'd actually be a good team with a decent QB, far from it, just if they had someone that doesn't throw 3 or 4 INTs in several games they'd probably be quite close to being in the playoffs.

They were still in the hunt up til last night and lost a very winnable game partly because of Sanchez's dumb INTs. They've also lost 2 or 3 other games by one score or less despite their comical QB struggles. I'm really not trying to defend them or anything, I still think they stink, but I reckon they could've a least had something to play for going into the last 2 weeks.

I doubt it. Even if they had a competent QB they'd still be awful. Their offence is just appalling don't know how Sparano still has a job. Going 2 wide receiver sets going on constant streaks and comebacks. They are in the stone age when it comes to NFL offences.

That says a lot more about how pathetic the AFC has been than how close to a decent team the Jets are.

Sanchez can't be given too many more chances surely? That was an inept performance as I've seen from any side offensively. Fair enough, he hasn't the weapons that other sides have but he doesn't exactly inspire confidence in his receivers or his linemen.

As it is, they're pretty much shafted though given the contract they gave him last year.

They're a long way away from being competitive at the business end of the season.

According to an article on ESPN today, the Dolphins still have a 0.8% chance of making the playoffs.....but that's better than 0% .....*cough* Jets *cough*

In the wacky confusing world of the NFL standings, the Jets and Dolphins have the same record, because of tiebreakers the Jets are ahead of the Dolphins in the AFC East......but the Jets are eliminated from the playoffs and the Dolphins still have a mathematical chance of making it.
