I got 20 meters of rope in my local Lidl for 50 cents today....in the clearence item section.

Handy for the tarpaulin covers and covering over the briquettes and all the logs and felled trees..

I store the briquettes out in the open, should they be covered up from the rain?

20 meters of 4mm rope...which is what you usually get with tarpaulin kits in the diy stores and builders providers.

I just cover them over,as I do with the logs and cut up tree trunks.

You clearly just wanted to show off those lovely hands of yours. Have you considered hand modeling? :)

I will tell ya now. If ye ever need a bit of rope to tie the (consenting) wife up with, paddy is the man you need to see.

Did they have more of that 4mm x 20m rope @ €0.50 clearance...??...

...cos, for €2.50, you could break 5 of those into 5 pairs of 2mm x 20m lengths,
and take one from each pair and braid that set of 5 into a 10mm x 20m rope.

Bargain!! A pair of 10mm x 20m ropes for €2.50!! A quartering of the OP price!!
I smell profit via adverts.ie Mmmm....

I wouldnt advise that. that rope is at its strongest when 20m length. Any shorter and the tensile strength of the woven fabric is lost.
They did a study on the tensility of several ropes and for 4mm width, 20m is the perfect length. depends what you want it for though, the tensilification can be extensified if you double wrap 2 x 4mm cuts together.

In your case you might be better off renting one, paddy147 might accommodate you and take a picture of your efforts for the benefit of us all!
