I dont think anyone wants a witchhunt but I do think as Arsenal fans and football fans we cant have double stadards is all, dives that help shape a game will always get more attention than those that dont, likewise players who play for bigger clubs will always come under closer scrutiny for it.

Suarez and Bale get more attention than anyone and neither of them play for a big club.

I was more Gervinho, I dribbled into the box and then didn't know what to do.

Laying into Santi on Sunday supplement, papers full of it too, looks like he will be getting a rough ride at every ground from now on.

thats terrible, yes it was a dive but Reid was thick as a plank for swinging his left leg like that in the box. Fair enough he wasn't touched but we see dives every week from all teams. I wasn't happy when i saw the dive but its no worse than others we've seen this season.

I agree,it was identical to rooneys dive that ended our unbeatable run.

Anyway this will give Suarez a breather with the media for a while, brace ourselves for a lot of,same old arsenal always cheating!

So Cazorla dived. Who gives a flying f*ck. We lost the greatest unbeaten run even seen in England because of a diving cheat so forgive me if I never get upset when one of our own does it.

I do so enjoy these high-minded, intellectual arguments. They make me question why I don't engage with fellow football fans more often.

Spot on. Its not right and there's no place for it in the game. But I couldnt actually give less of a crap about it just because its a player from the team I support.

Very disappointed with our Arsenal yesterday, 2 pens that were not, and poor performance overall. Arteta looked a wreck taking both as well. Not impressed at all.

What game were you watching? Second penalty was a stonewall penalty.

OX Chamberlain clearly fouled a defender just before he ran into the box. I will take the win but so lucky.

absolutely not, if a man his size falls over when someone puts a hand on his hip then there's something wrong. the defender went down like a ton of bricks instead of dealing with the ball like he should have.

As much as I hated the first peno the second one was a peno, the ox didnt foul him he went down way to easily never a free then Chmberlain ran into the box and got taken down stonewall peno.

As for the performance yes it wasnt amazing but we certainly plaed better than we have in rcent weeks, we created plenty of chances, we were always looking to open them up it was an big improvement overall.

Every bit as much of a dive as Santi & Rosenborg imo.

Did you actually see it or did you get a recap of the game from a West Brom fan? The defender threw himself down after receiving very slight contact. He was looking for the free; when a player looks for a free like that they take the risk that the referee won't buy it.

Whats that mong Sadlier know anyway ? He's just another Dunphy crap Irish player who could never get out of the lower leagues and he's becoming a bitter little bollix too, he always fishs for controversy

Yeah it was a dive , Get over it we won the game and deserved on the whole WBA did nothing all game

TBH i like Sadlier. Think he is one of the best pundits around. Cant understand the vitriol toward him tbh as I find him fair and impartial in his opinions and there is not alot of pundits you could say that about.

Im not going to look at the Santi incident through rose tinted glasses. He dived. However as Sadlier correctly pointed out there was what could be interpreted as intention to foul the player by Stephen Reid.

Santi isnt the first to dive and wont be the last sadly. Its an issue in football that does need to be eradicated and the authorities all around the footballing globe are ignoring it. Ill take a win any day of the week as beggars cant be choosers but it would be a nice extra to win without any ambiguity hanging over it leaving us open to the other vulchers in the media who are picking over our corpse at present.

Nevertheless However we got our first penalty does not take from the fact we deserved to win yesterday and should have won by more. Onwards and upwards from now on please god.

Quite a bit of old Arsenal players involved in that goal, Clichys mistake, RVPs free and the deflection of Nasri who was trying to hide behind the City wall.
